Got my Factor X CF hood...
Well it was delivered to my fathers shop back in Clearwater. Unfortunately I don't get to pick it up until Saturday. My car is in the shop up there getting the front end repaired. As soon as I get it I will take plenty o picks. Its the Spoon weave USDM hood.
Now I have a question for you guys. Where can u mount hoods pins on the hood. I want them to be closer to the sides in the front rather than the center. like this...

instead of this....

Maybe I'm just thinking they would go in the center cause thats where i saw it on a civic. But I would much rather have them out closer to the sides.
well for some reason the side side of my hood diagram doesn't want to be on the right side
you get the point anyway

To the experienced CF hood people here:
What is your take on the need for hood pins for This hood, keeping in mind
a) it has less gap in front
b) stock rubber strip can be easily added.
Won't both of these lessen the need for pins?
Thanks for the help.

NOt that I'm one of the experienced people, but when I spoke with the guys at Factor X they said their hood is very sturdy, but still recommend pins on ANY lighter weight hoods. Also, the pins I got are the locking ones, and I'd just like to have them for added measure.
Can you point me in the direction of the locking hood pins that you purchased, I might be looking into a set of hood pins for my damaged hood.
Thank you,
Austin
I got these locking pins from JCWhitney...

They're listed under accessories...they appear to be the same ones that JC Whitney have for 1/2 the price, but further investigation would be needed to confirm this.

Just make a note that these hood pins rust very badly.
Wesley - who has replaced his hood pins 2 times in a year and a half.

Hey Craig,
Could you do some of us, who view this website from work, a favor and not post the pic of the lesbians in every thread?
Thanks,
Reid

I guess... i was just campaining to get our avatars back Craig - Who will be a good sport and keep the lesbians to him self
Sorry for being a ****. I'm allowed to surf the net, but when coworkers walk behind me constantly, a pic of bisexuals kissing isn't really the greatest thing for them to see.

Shouldn't you be working at work (I'm going to get my anti-flame suit for this)?
The other is, if you have the time at work to surf, obviously you would appreciate it if everyone could censor what they post or at least give a proper warning.
The argument would be, as Honda-Tech'ers, we have the right to post what we want (considering we might get banned/points subtracted).
Hmm...I'm just blabbing since I'm waiting for my next class to begin. Damn Personal Finance and the 3 hour class.
I have mine setup like that.

I have had no problems with my hood locks and have been using them for over a year now. No rust or anything. My hood locks are made by Mr. Gasket.
EDIT: Damn imagestation, copy and paste the link to a web browser window to get it to work.
