Another stolen DC2 in San Diego
That's right folks, another DC2 has fallen prey to the MF'ing thieves. It belongs to a friend of mine, so I'm posting it for him. Please hit me up if you happen to see it. Unlikely as I'm sure it's already in pieces.

Sorry to hear man.. Nice looking teg, leather too..
Just a quick question seeing as how we're on the topic of security issues; what is a good alarm system that actively work's as a good deterant for thieves.
I'm actually buying one this week and they offer some decent one's at Future Shop (Canadian Circuit City wat wat).. But in regards to quality and reliablilty.. what's a good company for a relatively good price?
Thanks
Sorry bout' the teg man.. wow Capital punishment all the way.

Thanks for the sympathy. Like I said, it was my buddy's car, but I spent plenty of time under that hood and behind that wheel, so I feel the loss....
As for your security question, it is all about the installation, not so much the system. The system needs to be installed where none of the components or wiring can be easily located. I suspect your canadian circuit city would not be the place to go if security is your real concern. Also, don't rely on a single system. Add layers of securtiy in the form of an engine/ECU disable switch (not just starter disable since manual transmissions can be push started) that hooks into a different location than the alarm. That being said, the labor is gonna cost you some serious bucks. I've seen "stealth installs" run up to $500 with minimal options.
This car had the OEM security system, but as you may have guessed, it was inadequite

Oye, poor guy.
But, I still don't understand, what's up with people and the lack of security? If you drive an integra, your only form of security should not be an alarm. People don't learn! I'm not saying that having more security won't get your car towed, but it'll definitely deter the thieves without tow trucks.

How's the view from your soap box? Thanks for your sympathy and contribution of the obvious. Seriously though, you never think it's gonna happen to you, right? Well it didn't actually happen to me this time (as mentioned, this is-or was- my friend's car), but next time, I may not be so lucky.
Gotta go work on my security system.

Not so much from a soapbox. Instead, it's more of speaking from personal experience and a word of warning. I drove a crx with the basic alarm. Needless to say, it was stolen (it was completely stock).
Sorry for being the bastard, but if at least one person heeded the security warnings mentioned in threads just like these, it'd be worth the effort to get on my little HT soapbox.

I hear ya. No hard feelings, just wanted to give you a hard time. It always sucks to lose an Integra (I've lost 2 myself), but in this case I am fortunate enough to not have been the owner! (Sorry Juan
)
Thanks for your comments, everyone! And be on the look out! ... not that anyone will ever see this car again....

Sorry to hear about your friend's loss...hope they find it soon. What's funny is that most of the cars stolen are usually recovered in southern San Diego....
I am always hearing about Integras getting stolen out of San Diego, especially La Jolla. If I lived anywhere near there, I'd do a "sting" on those *************.
Thanks for your comments everyone!
Yeah, no full coverage on this bad boy so it is GONE gone. (don't yell at me, that wasn't my idea).
And the shitty thing too was that the engine was internally stock but it was one of those freak motors you hear about: a '94 with 140k+ miles, didn't burn a drop of oil and it still laid down 156 on the dyno!!! This seriously aggrevated me since I had ITR pistons and CTR cams in my engine and I only got 159 down
. And then there's the quiafe I installed.... Man that was a sweet ride.
And there's a reason a lot of hondas get jacked from La Jolla. That's where UCSD is. You get a bunch of nice cars parked in a big lot all together over night and a couple of 'em are gonna get jacked. Once again: F THIEVES IN THE A!
