Default Warped Rotors?

Well, i went for a drive far away today, so I was on the highway doing about 80. Whenever I hit the brakes, my car shuddered worse than usual. I say worse than usual, because Whever I get up to about 50-55 mph, it starts to shake. You can feel it in the steering wheel. I thought I had a bad alignment or wheel balance. But when I was going faster, it was noticeably worse when braking. Warped rotors?

well when u getup to 50-55 and it start shaking without braking? that usually means wheel balance, or bent wheels.

as u continue to accelerate to 80 does it shake while speeding up? warped rotors will cause vibration ONLY when you touch the brakes.

my guess is wheel balance...

Yup, once I hit 50ish it starts wiggling regardless of what I do.

Ya, it keeps wiggling, but i guess I don't feel it as bad cause it's faster, lol. When I completely let off the gas though and start to decelerate, it gets worse, and when I hit the brakes, it gets noticeably worse...

yeap..well at least from my experience...think about it if its warped rotors..there are high and low spots...without the brakes applied..nothing touches the rotors so u won't be hitting the high spots to cause the vibration. correct me if anybody thinks i'm wrong or if i am wrong.

yea i think its your wheel balance. because if you're wheels are not balanced it will shake as soon as u accelrate to certain speed. i had same problem with a friends car...as he accelrated to 65 on freeway it'll shake...went past 80 and it got better but still shaking. got his wheel balanced for him and it was fixed.

Well once I get my tranny on i'll get it done.

Does anyone have a second opinion that warped totors will only vibrate when the brakes are on? It makes sense, but it got so much worse when I hit the brakes.

my car has the same thing. I get off the freeway, brake, and the car shudders. Not only the car body, but the steering wheel, and if i let off the brakes a bit i can feel it pulsing..kinda like ABS i think? and I know for sure my car doesnt have ABS...haha warped rotors i'm sure.

jack up the front end a lil bit, and wiggle the wheel and watch the tie-rod end to see if it wiggles

i had the EXACT same problem with my hatch. when i got my wheels balanced it took sum of the vivration away. along with sum of the vivration from the braking.
try and get them alingned to see if it stops. if it doasent then they are the tie rod ends or warped rotors.

Could you elaborate more? I would love to do this, but two questions. Do I wiggle the steering wheel or the tire?

Also, where the hell is the damn tie rod end and rack end bushing? I would love to check them but where the hell are they?

Bottom line is, I am gonna put on my new tranny, then take my car in to get two new front tires and a wheel balance. I don't wanna have the balance done and it not do any good. I want to be sure that whatever I have them do, it will fix it. If I can replace some sort of bushing before I take it in, that'd be great!

Are they near the LCA's or axles? Got a pic? I searched but the pics were all too ambiguous.

follow the LCA, look at the outer end of it (end closest to the tire), now look towards the direction of the rear wheels, you will see a long skinny rod thingy, then it has like a little crooked shape thingy. ahh expletive, lol this is hard to describe.

number 14/16 in this picture is the tie rod end.
