Default Need Help, Engine Swap.

Ive posted here only once before, but I suck at this whole car thing. I am planning to switch out my d17 automatic engine in my 2001 lx civic. Can anyone recommend a good engine to put in. I have money, so thats not a problem. I just need to know some good ones and or websites or dealers. Thank you in advance. By the way it will be switched over to manaul, I have someone to do all the service for free

This has been asked before. But, to make your search shorter, I'd recommend a K-series swap (K20a or K20a2, K20a3 has a different style Vtec and isn't as useable when it comes to extra hp.). Hasport makes mounts that will fit the engine in your car.

You might want to search next time, there's plenty of info. out there.

Ok another really started question, how much would that run me money wise. I have 6000 at my disposable due to me working insanely this year.

The engine could cost anywhere from 2000 to 8000 dollars. If you want to save money, and leave yourself with the best option for the money, go with the A2, the K20a will most likely cost you much more, since it's from a Type-R.

heres a chart of all the possible engines for k20 series which is best for an em2/es1/es2. the swap will everything will most likely run high especially if you use hondata also. i got estimates in the past for 7k for everything and running.

do k20a2, probably going to run about 4-6k, depending on where you look for parts, and what type of prices you pay for everything, add another 1-2k if you plan on having a shop doing it.
