probably bent some valves...someone did that here awhile ago and he had pics of a valve in his piston after it bounced around the cylinder

he needs to pour over the fine print of his extended warranty contract. he may have to fight the company covering this to get the work done. the ECU is going to tell the dealer that he overrevved.

even though he had the code cleared all tha comes up now is that the cylinders are misfireing

The reason it is mifiring is because he bent valves not because of the code. Acura will not cover this under warranty most likely and when they scan the ECU they can see at what time and RPM he misshifted. And no this can't be erased.
If he gets lucky they will replace it under what they call "Good will" but chances are slim. Best bet is too either DIY or take it to a shop other than a stealership.
And stop driving the damn car too, if the valves are just bent you don't want them to snap. Then you can say goodbye to the block and pistons too. Sorry to be blunt but this simple issue can turn into a catastrophe.

The ECU has a black box built into it so that if there is any large trauma to the engine (ex. over reving the engine to the point of bending valves) it stores all of the engine activity from the point of boom the 30 seconds before. In this case showing the bad shift, rpms and how long the engine was held at those rpms and this CANNOT be erased , removed or altered in any way unless you have access to an Acura dealership. Erasing the over rev code will only show them that he tried to cover it up. But when they look at the valve train they will see bad things, check the engine records in the ecu and because it was driver error and not a fault of Honda, I highly doubt that they will even consider doing warranty work. Don't even think about cranking that motor or even consider driving it cause if you loose a valve completely you just lost your engine. Look at it this way, he has a golden opporitunity to upgrade the valve train and port and polish the heads.

that is why you don't let idiots drive your car... friends who don't know how to drive stick..especially on RSX-S which are EXTREMELY infamous to known to be easily mis-shift and screw up the motor when you go past redline...
do a search... almost everyone who mis-shifted RSX-S past the rev limiter screwed the motor up like crazy...

Just start looking for new valves and have the springs and retainers looked at. If the only thing that got messed up were the valves than you are good to go. You can get a new set of valves from Ex. skunk2 for about 370, and thats from there website so the're out there cheaper somewere. Start shopping for valve sets or even a kit with the valves retainers and springs. I have a feeling it will be alot cheaper than rebuilding the whole motor when one of the bent valves goes or buying a new car or engine. You have a k-motor, TUNE IT WHILE YOU CAN, lol. Have the WHOLE motor looked at and if the only thing that needs replaced is the valves then drop a nice set in there (you get what you pay for alot of the time) and you just got you daily driver back for less than 400 bucks plus labor, but find someone you trust or can show you some of there work. Then later down the road look at upgrading the springs and retainers and next thing you know if you bought the right parts you have one hell of a head. Look at possibilty.
Try looking at some of these places for parts:
