A punch tends to add to the pin's resistance to move. Get a cheap punch, grind a collar into it to fit inside the pin, then give it a few whacks.
I use a piece of round bar that's a hair smaller in diameter that is approx. 4 ft. long and give 2 shots from the top. Hasn't failed me yet in 8+ swaps.

That's what I did when I did my swap. Just undo it from the shifter. (two bolts)

I don't understand how everyone has so much trouble with this pin? I have used a punch and hammer for years on many many many hondas and NEVER had a problem yet.

Nope, not yet anyhow. Just jack up the car a bit further and put some muscle into it.
