New Noise -- vibration at start up
My civic is now making a new noise.
I just had a low miles jdm trans put in. The car feels and drives much different. But now I am definitely getting a new noise a noise/vibration. It occurs at start up. It doesn't seem related to the trans.
The mechanic who put the trans in said i have a timing belt slap. And maybe i do, but it's not causing the major noise/vibration. I hold my hand against the belt cover and don't feel a slap.
The mech who put the time belt in says the noise is something else. He acknowledges that there is a vibration. He's guessing perhaps a motor mount. He stated something sounds loose-- that it sounds like the engine and the car are not firmly connected.
(he also said i have some vavle train noise, which might be related to the oil burning)
The tranny mechanic had to put in a new motor mount. Perhaps i could have used a second motor mount.
I guess my big fear is that i'm going to have to pay somebody more money to pull things out and fix them. Which I just paid for. Does this sound like a hard fix? Does it sound like something the tranny mechanic should have fixed already?
I'm definitly going back to the tranny mechanic.
Suggestions welcome.
