Best regardless of money is the Mugen intake, or a Velocity stack on a stick...

Where's the damn dyno sheet on the intake showdown. IIRC the Mugen beat all of them. Throttle response and HP.

we need a dyno test comparison from an un-biased source. A Mugen, J's, Comptech, or AEM dealer will always report that their intake is best to try and push their products. Think about it, its a business and we are all capitalists correct?

BTW- Im willing to bet money the Mugen intake is all H-T hype similar to the J's racing intake. Throttle response was no better than any other SRI but the top end sucked

Another thing to consider is if you go with a mugen and you have A/C its a REAL! tight fit and if your not comfortable with moving your A/C lines apart I would go with another intake.

IIRC the intake shootout/dyno was not done by a Mugen dealer.

Haha Dave, I'm in the same boat as you. This velocity stack thing is getting out of hand. What the expletive is it anyway? Just a SRI or what? Is everyone gonna be rockin' these in a couple months?

I woudl probably start with a filter on a stick. Hook that up to a turbo, feed it thru a FMIC and back up to the throttle body. kthx

A v-stack makes good gains but there are two issues IMHO
1) Intake temps
2) No filter

That set-up works well for short duration work at the track - ie the drag strip.

If you want the best bang for the buck I suggest the AEM CAI for the ITR... this coming from the Mugen importer... how's that for unbiased?

And still if money were no option I would suggest the Mugen unit. I hope to dyno my stock ITR this week with a stock intake, Mugen intake, and AEM CAI.

You can put a regular 6" K&N filter on the bell:

Dyno runs shown slight power differnences (1whp) if any.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Minus the large volume cold air box, that is exactly what a Mugen intake is - velocity stack with a filter.

BTW... I've been running the hot air ram box for awhile now and really like it.

(I found the top to the box last week and finally put it back on.)

I'll send you mine. But you have to pay for shipping... both ways...and you can't keep it forever. Couple weeks is fine though.
