Agreed. Lowering it will make the power come on smoother and you'll definetly gain some topend hp from lowering it to where it needs to be (pretty much 5500rpm). The lowend cam shouldn't drop off in hp before VTEC engages.

wow great power. i imagine the steady drop off in power would be because of the stock head and TB and DC header.

and get that VtaK lowered 5500 looks perfect

We tried VTEC and many different points throughout the graph. It didnt matter where we put it had a dip. We adjusted timing and fuel in that spot with no success. After he gets a header I think we are going to retune....might have some ideas to try at that time.

Thanks for the props Hobey!

Yeah, maybe a new header would help, but I would think that dip could be smoothed out with more fuel.

Good job, nice numbers.

Who suggested those cams anyways? Looks awesome man, great improvement over your last dyno. Now get a SMS manifold on there and hit 225!!

A lot of potential left in this motor, can't wait to see what she can do with a good header and perhaps some headwork

I got a taste of this beast today and really all I can say is WOW. I was a little sketchy about that dip in the chart myself, but riding around, I couldn't really feel anything negative at all. It's honestly not as big a deal as most are thinking it is. The car absolutely rips all the way to redline. Pretty fly if you ask me. I'd like to see how it does down the 1320. It'll also be interesting to see how things turn out once a couple more things are swapped out, if they ever are; the man owes me some repairs to my car, HAHA.

i played with timming alot with the setup and moving vtec around alot , it did like it at 6k better but i wanted it to be lower then that so i lowered it to 5500 and it dipped really hard at this point a/f was perfect and timming was really smooth so i moved it up again to 5800 and then it looked like the motor was falling on its face(what you see above) before vtec , when we drove it i didn't feel the dip but its on the sheet , Hobey if your dissatisfied with anything ill make it right , but id really like to re-tune with a bigger header and TB so we can see 220's , also id like to add earlier in the tune vtec wasn't working and power wasn't falling off tell 7k . these cams make tremendous low cam power

im happy with where its at...its only temp anyways and honestly i cannot feel that dip. Ive had my car tuned at many places and Chris took his time with my setup, he stayed late and made sure everything was A-OK. A BIG to Chris and Matt over at Intec Racing. (ill be back in a couple of months with new goodies )

Intec? Didnt Milton burn that place down after they shoved him the basement and told him to take care of the cockroaches?
