im looking to get one for my gsr soon, id love to have the Spoon CF hood but i cant afford $1200 , i heard fiber images hood doesnt fit that well, what hood fits well and needs no hood pins? i tried search and it didnt work

Fiber images fit fine. I have one and no fitment problems at all.

 

Benen is coming out with carbon hoods for integras soon. I heard the finish and quality is perfect. Wait for it.

I am going with fiber images. I had one on my EG and its the best IMO. the fit was OEM and the finish was very nice;I got many compliments on my hood. It was also $500 shipped from JHP.com. I have seen VIS the edges are just cut not rolled like F.I.; I bet the Benen is nice, but they are too proud of their ****$$$ for me.

fiber images doesn't fit well.. thats news to me.. its untrue.. not only that they reinforce the latch and the CF folds over the edges of the hood.. i haven't heard any thing about them flipping open.. even going 140km/h still completely stable..

they also make them with orange, blue, yellow, red and green too.. its a mix of kevlar & carbon fiber.. a bullet proof hood?.. he he.. they look niiice.. i was at fiber images checkin out their red and yellow variations of the new celica hood.. niiice.. makes me dizzy just looking at them. i'll have a blue hood one day..

 

I ahve one on my 00 gsr and it is a VIS hood. fits well. very well. I dont have hood pins yet and i dont really see the need for them. i ahve raced out at the track and raced out at illeglas and on the streets of sin city and my hood never flew off. so the VIS hood is quality and it fits perfect. Hood pins you dont really need more of a cosmetic thing.

Get Fiber Images, they are good hoods for the money, everyone who has one really doesnt complain.

 

I know someone personally that has a Fiber Images hood on their black GS-R and it looks very nice. I will get one sooner or later.

I just got my hood today. I must tell you this hood is awsome! Even if you already own a carbon fiber hood stop what you're doing and go order this hood now. The fit and the lay of the weive is the best I've seen, and the best a few local import shops have seen. I am 100% happy with the quality of this hood. I love the stock underside frame, and I could look at the spoon weive all day. Did I tell you this hood was light? It's a huge difference from stock hood. Though I regret to inform you that by rushing the hood via UPS air mail even though packaged great they managed to break the corners that are near the windshield. I'll be ok because the shipment was insured and I've filed a claim with UPS that should be settled shortly. Sam at Factor X has been very helpful their service gets two thumbs up from me. I'll be ordering another one very shortly even before the claim is settled. Once again I've seen many carbon hoods on integras locally and at the tracks including VIS, and FI, and IMO Factor X is the one to get.

 

i just got my carbon fiber hood from body kits NW and i must say that the quality is excellent. the only thing i dont like about it is the edges but for the most part its very high quality weave and a nice glossy coat on it.

 

how much was the factor x hood? are the edges rolled? I have a few friends that have recently ordered the newest run of VIS cf hoods and the edges ARE rolled... not sure if that was luck or what, but it fits great. Lets hear about where to get th factor x hood. thanks

Factor X hood is $450 and yes the edges are rolled.

 

what website(s) sell them? was it 450 shipped? definatly my next upgrade... aside from tuning and tires.
