Fit for AutoX?
Is anyone planning on AutoXing their Fit? What class will it be in? I'm curious if this will be a potentially competitive car (obviously depending on what class it'll be placed in).

I think it will be very competitive in its class --- 5sp base model with R compound tires with 15X7 wheels should be a blast with 2300lbs or so, quick steering --- I love'em

What is the stock 15" Fit Sport wheel width/offset? They definitely aren't 15x7 if you're thinking of running "Stock" class. I haven't driven a Fit yet, but I might tomorrow since I'm off work and have a friend that works at a stealership.
I'm actually having some crazy thoughts of selling my STi and getting one so I can save for a house. $30k car payment + 17 mpg vs $15k car payment + 33 mpg. You do the math.

The STi isn't about comfort...or gas mileage. LOL. I would think you'd know that since you owned one. Trust me I love the STi, but I'd like to save some $$.

I know that's not what it is about. But to me, it just wasn't worth it for the performance. My M3 gives me almost everything the STi did yet still relatively comfortable and gets 20 city/ 28 hwy.

i agree. im selling my evo for a fit, not only the gas milage, but insurance and its darn cheaper to afford, too.

The Fit WILL be classified in H Stock where it will have to deal with the all conquering Mini Cooper. I know this because H is the slowest class and it is populated by cars that are much quicker and better handling than the Fit. Other Hondas in H Stock include the TSX and most of the Civic SIs ever built, with the exception of the '06 and maybe the original '86-'87. I really don't think the Fit has any chance. I really want one for a daily though and your damn right I'd bring it out to an auto-x event or two just to have fun. It may do OK at a local event but seriously, the only car to have beaten the Minis at a national event in the past few years was an Audi 90 CS quattro. I'm not positive but rain may have had something to do with it.
save the fit for commuting and get some thing else for autox.
ur gonna have to pour alot of money into it just to be competitive.
or just get the civic Si and have both

No way. They are probably 15x6 (someone who has one of the new Fit Sports should be able to confirm this).

I can confirm they are 15x6. I test drove one today. I have to say I was really amazed at what a great commuter this car is. It doesn't feel underpowered even at 109hp/105tq weighing in at 2400 lbs. It had adaquete power and I could see myself driving it to save $$. Insurance is $400 less a year compared to my STi LMAO.
The handling was very good with very little body roll. H Stock sounds about right and I agree while it won't be nationally competitive against well prepped Mini's...you could definitely suprise some people at local events.
