Default 3" magnaflow muffler review on FI car

I finally upgraded my exhaust from the puny 2 1/4 crush bent job to a 3" Magnaflow SS muffler with 3" T304 stainless mandrel bent pipes with NO RESONATOR! The sound is deep and smooth @ idle and comes alive higher in the rpm's. Contrary to what I've heard about Magnaflow being a loud muffler I can honsetly say that it's not too loud at all in my case. Here are some pics and a small vid of a pull I made last night. Enjoy.
Out with the rice.

In with the nice.

Who needs a tip with 3"?

Small video.

that looks PERFECT. i dont think ive ever seen a better looking exhaust on an EF.

now, man up and take the muffler out and run a 3" straight pipe. TRUST ME, it sounds great (i run a 3" turboback, no muffler/res/cat)

thats a perfect exhaust for the crx. 3" piping does NOT need a stinkin' tip.

unfortunately it will get a bit louder over time, but not terribly bad...

Yup! My 2 1/2" magnaflow was pretty quiet when it was new, but it go progressively louder as the miles added up. It is "not so quiet" anymore. I'll be upgrading to a 3" setup soon, and using the same model muffler, but this time I'll take advantage of the lifetime waranty that it comes with, and when it gets too loud, I'll replace it under waranty.

Actualy I get a bit more torque in the lower rpm's. Zero backpressure is key in any FI set up. My last setup was preety much bottle necked being 2 1/4" with the resonator and crush bends but yeah it pulls harder for sure.

Yeah it sounds nice,,real deep and mellow..Ill take an educated guess and say its either sohc vtec engine or a B18a/b engine..Or atleast thats what it sounds like to me..They make different noises when boosted then the others..

no doubt that would sound great, but it wouldnt go over too well for those of us on a first name basis with the local law enforcement (well, any officer in the northeast part of vermont really).

that is a mint looking muffler. I myself am trying to piece together the perfect exahust to keep the cops off my back in toronto. I've been told use two magflow mufflers instead of a resonator and muffler. Is that a DSM bov?

Hey i hear you in toronto dude! I have the same problem

Im currently running the exact same setup. 3" DP / 3" cat / 3" madrel piping and a 3" sidemount muffler, with same tip ( single tip ).

But all my exhaust is painted flat black.. Keeps it looks stock as possible.
