Damn that showroom is extra phat and stupid funky!
Anyway, that cage looks pretty nice, im a little suprised by the size of the bolt, though. Are you planning on putting riders in the back seats that are still there? Clean looking R

It has aremoveable cross brace...so in theory I could put folks in the back after taking that out. I probably won't, because it is just not safe IMHO.

That's not a "cage." It's a four point roll bar. There is a HUGE difference between the two.
And Kirk does do excellent work. Much better than Autopower in my opinion.

The bolts in bolt on cages are there to keep the cage in place on the mounting points. It really depends on the structure it's mounted to as to how effective they are. I feel that for me in doing HPDE, and time trials it's very safe. Full on racing requires a full cage and I would prefer it welded.
just my 2 cents.
As far as the oil filter goes......check out my oil cooler install web page(http://www.sportauto.cc/Links.htm)....it's at the bottom of the scrolling page. It has all the info on that. You could adapt it for just the filter. I haven't found a "kit" that works real well with the R
Hope this helps

VERY TURE!....folks get them confused. The bar in my car is useless to another car contacting me or other wheel to wheel incidents. This bar is for roll over protection and that alone.

I was surprised by both the bends in the rear braces and their length. I had always understood that straight tubes were better for triangulation, and that short spans were preferred to long.
I do like the mounting to the sub-frame, though. Looks a lot more secure than trying to sandwich sheet metal between two plates.

Straight tubes are the best as you said, but they make it impossible to keep the rear seats, and or storage area in the rear I can put my extra wheels in. It's only SCCA solo 1 legal. Later if I decide to go beyond that the whole thing will have to come out and a new one weleded in. I doubt I do anything more with this car than HPDE though.

Also, this seems to be a VERY large gap between the bar and the roof:
How much space is there without the padding? I have the Autopower bar, and I thought I had a big gap.

Wouldn't you need the front section too?

And Kirk offers an Integra bar in two forms. One, like the one pictured here, allows full use of the hatch and even the back seat if you get the removable cross brace. The other style option attaches the rear supports straight to the rear wheel wells.
The option pictured here was designed in my GSR in 1996. I ran that design in Solo I for 5 years. I did not tow to events and was able to get 4 wheels/tires, tools, cooler, 2 folding chairs, luggage, helmet, drivers suit, air tank, and a 10x10 EZup canopy in the hatch. Heh... not too shabby a design taking all this into account.
The space at the top is because the car the bar was designed in (mine) had a sunroof in it. If someone will take a Type R to Mark (in Birmingham, AL), he can design a bar that fits closer to the roof.
Not for Solo I.
I installed the bolts "upwards" on all the bars and cages I've done instead of the way you have them. Less chance of shearing it off on something if you have a big off. Food for thought.

If I have an off big enough to shear those off....I'm screwed anyways ;-)
thanks for the info!

The rear bars are attached to the bumper support, above the muffler. Not much chance of shearing those. I did double nut them though. The main hoop is close enough to the ground to be an issue. I bolted mine upwards.
