Has anyone painted their stripped interior with spray cans?

im sure somone has. personally i would just get some basecoat the color of the exterior, reduce it as normal and put in about a capfull of hardener. the hardner will give it a little bit more durability than just straight basecoat. you could also clear it too if you really wanted, or even single stage it depending on what color the outside is.
i would just clean it real well first with some surface cleaner and then some pre clean or something similar than then take a red 3m scratch pad and go over everything thats going to be painted. tape everything off, blow some etching primer on any bare metal showing and paint it.
Just did it today after debating for WEEKS....Looks pretty damn nice.
Used rustolium <sp flat black to match my matte black paint job....
Just do a thorough cleaning and light sanding on the rough areas first.

I just did mine with Rustoleum Semi-Gloss white...came out pretty nice. As others stated, clean everything really well, and lightly sand the surfaces. Also, be prepare to spend a lot of time masking. Cover the exterior of the car with sheets, I got some bad overspray everywhere. And dont forget to mask off little things like the shock towers, fuel pump cover, and trunk/gas door release...it just makes it look like a shitty job if you dont.
Oh and I primed the surface beforehand as well. I ended up using 4 cans of primer (1 coat), and 7-8 cans of color (2 coats) if that helps.
