Default B16 swap?

I blew my d15 and i am wanting to swap in a B16. I can get a B16 out of a 2000 civic for $500 engine, trans, ecu and so on? What is needed to put this in my car? I know that i need a cable tranny so which should i use? Also is there anything other than mounts that i need?

90-93 axles. intermediate shaft, shift linkage, since you had a d15, im guessing it was a DX model...so you will need a DX wiring harness. Thats all i can think of now. Good Luck

Tranny won't work, it's a hydro clutch, ECU and hatness won't work, they are OBD-II - unless you wwant to re-wire the whole car ......

Just get the engine and axles/intermediate shaft. Then you'll have to get a PR3 or PW0 ECU, or an OBD-1 ECU and conversion harness.

Putting an OBD-II engine in the car is a pain in the *** .........

What do i do about the wiring? Blown90hatch do you make anything that would help me with this? How much would a Y1 tranny cost? (Y1 is the best tranny to get isnt it?)

Definitely buy the whole thing for $500 ........

It is hard to even get a 1st Gen. B16 engine alone for that, let alone a complete newer Si swap ........

MAKE SURE the engine isn't hot ....... nothing like stolen goods to get your car impounded .....

Sell the hydro tranny for $600 or so, and buy an Si or J1 for $300 or so. Those two have the R gearing (exactly like the Si tranny), the Y1 has taller gears, and is really better for a B18 swap .....

Damn i guess i read wrong. I thought the Y1 was geared for the b16 and the other two were more for b18. What can i source a S1 or J1 from? And i should use 90-93 teg axles. So the only problem left is the wiring.

you can get your wiring from place racing i got a JDM b16 and didnt feel like messing with wiring, the make prewired kits or you can send yours of and have it rewired

hasport makes a hydro tanny kit to - just do alot of research before you end up spending more money then you had planed, i did and it sux but in the lond run its well worth it!

No, they make a hydro to cable conversion so that newer cars can run a cable tranny, not the other way around ......

I have the S1 and I like it. Great acceleration. Just a little high rpm's when cruising the freeway.
You can use any b-series cable tranny you want. Just get the one that has the gearing that is best for your setup. There is really no one best tranny, just best for what you want.

http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/variants.html

The S1 and J1 are just like the ITR tranny gearing.

Best tranny for your CRX is 92-93 GSR cable YS1.
