WHERE are the USDM ITRs? Answers inside.
I finally finished carfaxing all of the USDM ITRs.
I thought some of you would find this information interesting.
There is more to come, but this was easy to parse out of the reports.
(I am trying to determine how many were stolen, and some other stuff).
Anyway, on to the good stuff.

Did you add up both lists by mistake?
Its the same list twice, sorted differently.
I found that carfax had exactly 3835 records, meaning 15 were unaccounted for.
Also, the were about 50 that I could not determine a last known location for.
The ones that are appearing in Canadian cities are USDM models that were later registered in Canada.

if you can determine % stolen or "dead" that would be interesting
awaiting more facts!

Thats the whole point really, determining how many were stolen or destroyed.
However, that information is harder to parse out of the records, while location was pretty easy, so I started with that.
There will be more to come once I figure it out...

Well, the counting using Acura's website was my idea, which Andy then implemented. The idea of using Carfax was suggested earlier during that discussion, which I then brought up again with Andy as a result of the "poll" topic, as a way of mining Carfax data regarding thefts.
I guess it means I have good ideas but it takes me "all of these years" to think them up.

The "more to come" part of Andy's post refers to trying to count just how many have been stolen, wrecked, etc.

Good info
.
I swear I see at least 4-5 ITR's a day here in Vancouver/Richmond, B.C. Obviously they are repeated viewings
. I bet our province has the highest # of Type R's across Canada

I wonder what other forums these "missing" owners are browsing. I wonder if they are as enthusiastic as most of us here are about the R. I wonder if they understand and are aware like we are when it comes to being an R owner, such as theft issues, its heritage, etc.

Of the whole state, I can only name about 20 ITR owners...Everyone is hiding!

Andy's latest information comes from Carfax. Carfax gets its information from a variety of public and private sources, most prominent among them the DMV of the various states.
No matter how active you are on these forums, chances are you won't know of most ITRs owned by people who don't post or are not on the forums. If someone doesn't participate in meets or in forums, unless they happen to live or park right near you, you'll probably never know about them. But they will still have their ITRs titled and registered with the DMV.
