HOW TO...Seat Cushion Swap..Lots of Pics
So if youre like 99% of all EF owners your drivers seat probably looks like its been through a war
good drivers seats are hard to come by
good pass seats are much easier
heres how to take the cushion and cover portion of the pass seat and swap it with the drivers seat to make a mint "hybrid" seat for your ef
THE BOTTOMS

the good pass seat and the bad drivers seat
first remove the rails and seperate the top and bottom of the two seats, if you have trouble figuring this out you may want to search for another write up then come back to this one

once you have the seats seperated the first step is to seperate the lower cushion and cover from the seat pan
you need to cut off all of the "hog rings" i used cutting pliers

once youve removed all of the hog rings you should have this

fit the good pass cushion to the drivers pan assy

this bolt hole will be covered, cut an x with a razor blade, you may want to wait til the cushion and cover are fully attached to make sure on hole alignment

attache the cushion and cover using zip ties where the hog rings were
thats it for the bottoms
THE BACKS

the first step on the backs is to remove the headrests, these are crx si seats so others may be different, there are clips similar to the ones that hold the window crank on, youll need to dig for them then pop them out with a screw driver, the headrest will pop right off

cut off all of the hog rings at the base of the seat, theres one hidden off to the side shown in the pic above

next unhook the rubber straps and start rolling the cover off the cushion

about 1/2 way up the seat back its attached, cut the hog rings and roll it up about 5" more then cut those hog rings

reach up in the back of the seat and release the plastic guides from the headrest and pop the cover off fully
work the cushion off slowly the top is on there good, try not to rip it but if you do just pop some duct tape on there after its on the new seat frame

on the drivers frame

start rolling the seat cover on and reattach it at the two points using zip ties
the first attachment is made from the fron of the seat and the second (lower) from the rear, make sure you cut the zip ties off close and tuck them in, especially the one on the front

once the cover is all the way on reattach the rubber straps and zip tie up the bottom of the seat

bolt the seat halves back together making sure the plastic bushing is on the non lever side then put the tracks back on and drop it in
it will be sweet i gaurantee it

f'n awesome!!!!! i got civic si seats and of course the drivers side bolster has that huge tear in it. i've had a spare passenger seat here for a while, just wasnt to sure if i could pull this off without tearin the fabric.
