ground control coilovers with stock delsol struts???
guys at work told me I would blow a valve in no time lowering my stock suspension on my delsol 96 si. Is this true? I guess it kinda makes sense what they were saying I just wanted a second opinion and experiences doing it. thanks

It's pretty likely.

true. Stock won't likely handle the increased rate + decreased suspension travel well at all. Especially when stock is so soft and progressive and GC is linear springs and much stiffer then stock.
I had great luck with my suspension. I drove my 94 CX with ground controls (400f/250r) lowered over 2.5" for about 5 years (50k miles) before I swaped in some koni sports. All 4 of my OEM shocks were still in great shape, and considerably stiffer than the Koni's on their softest setting...
Las Vegas has relativly nice streets though, but I always make sure to drive carefully and avoid pot holes & large bumps (I crawl over speed bumps too)...
