Looks very nice. How did you get it through the dash? Was the dash notched and slid back on after the cage was done? Did you have to move or cut any of the components under the dash? One more question haha... did you put a bar straight across under the dash connecting both bars?

i dont think you need the bar through the dash, i cert'd w/o it, and the a pillar bars go through the vents. thats why the windshield was cut out of it.

from my 06 rulebook:
page 210
"unibody cars with stock floor and firewall may attach roll bar with 6" x 6" x 1/8" plates on top and bottom of floor bolted together with atleast 4 x 3/8" nuts and bolts, or weld main hoop to rocker sill area with 1/8" reinforcing plates with plates welded completely."

i guess with the gussets and the boxing here, it is legal.

as of this year, the D bars can no longer be attatched to plates on the floor. they need to be attatched to a bar that attatches to the bottom of both sides of the main hoop.
you already have the certification, so dont sweat it.

actually its been that way for a while...we had the Tech over at our house, to certify a cage, and we had to modify the d-bars because they were welded to plates on the floor, we had to put in a bar, across th roll pans, and weld the d bars to that bar. Dont go by the rule book, you have to go by the CMCC chassis certification book, because that part isnt in the rule book. The NHRA tech even told us, it doesnt matter what the rule book says, it matters what the CMCC says.
i think ive called the MD cage inspector for 2 months straight and never gotten an answer...im going to have to certify mine at an event i guess. i got a temporary inspection last year....but couldnt get the real deal done b/c i tried for atleast a month at that point in time to get ahold of the MD inspector wtih no luck as well.
i have seen some pretty sketchy stuff pass...i guess its all just in who does the inspection and how strict they are?

Looks good,
Question on the bars though the dash. Did you keep the dash in and did they runs the bars up through there and then weld them to the rest of the cage? It looks really nice clean.

our cages are done the same way...we took the windsheild out and ran the bars down through the top and welded them in that way.

deleware kid, where is your parachute, and release cable ???
sixsig.... why didnt you tie the lower b pilar bar to the main hoop instead of the rocker box? also, the rear seat bracket, that goes to the shoulder bar. should the seat be ripped out, or moved in an accident that tube would most likely penetrate the back of the seat and potentialy harm the driver or kill them. i belive a design that would include the "entire face" of the seat would be alot more safe than this single tube design.
