Default uneven tire wear

i bought some rota slipstreams with 205/50-15 dunlop direzza's around christams time '05. i ordered them online and they said that they were ready to roll when they arrived at my door step. so i mounted them and have been driving them ever since. except my front tires are wearing REALLY REALLY quickly compared to the rear. any ideas of what this could be?

they seem to wear away more the further you move out (from the inside of the tire)

Did you get an alignment? Rotation?

Yeah get an alignment and set the toe to zero. Also make sure you have your tires properly inflated.

Good suggestions above, but if you have done all of that...and don't have hub-centric rings you need to get some.

All of the above are good suggestions.

When the car is up on the lift, make sure your suspension is okay. Things like worn bushings can cause uneven tire wear too.

Rotation is the process of moving your wheels and tires around to different corners of the car, normally done periodically to even out the tire wear. On FWD cars, the front tires wear faster. Some tires can be rotated from one side of the car to the other, while others can't. Look in your owner's manual for the recommended rotation pattern, and check your tires to see if the sidewall says "THIS SIDE FACES OUTWARDS" (which can be rotated from one side to the other) or "DIRECTION OF ROTATION" (with an arrow, which means they can't be rotated without dismounting them from the rim). Tires do not come off the rims during a rotation. Rotation can be done with a jack and a lug wrench (just like putting the spare tire on your car), using an extra wheel/tire to replace the one you take off as you work your way around the car.

You can find a good description of the wheel alignment process on this website.

That'll do it... (and that's why I suggested checking the suspension)

If you want to work on your own car, you really need to have a service manual. You can buy one here.

I don't know. You might want to try asking in the Civic forum...
