Default Jose's DA9 Project thread

UpDated Pics on Page 2

UpDated Pics on Page 3 yo! MOTOR SWAP!

Hey guys whats up, Yeah so I made this thread so I didnt make 30 others everytime I did something to the car.

Ok, I got this car last summer, $650 Cash.
Tranny was locked up.

Here are pics when I first got it.

So I went to a local Junkyard pulled a ls tranny for $75 and slapped it in.

It also had a brocken upper left mount, so I replaced that,
The same night I replaced that I went out and took it for a test drive,
I broke the Rear trq mount
So, I replaced that too.
And while I replaced that I had ES Inserts installed.

Well, I'm sure many people remember me, becuase I had problems with my
car every week,

Here is what happens when the owner that had it before you forgets to replace the cotter pins in the lower ball joints,

So after that I Bought a complete front susp setup. stock, and I replaced all the front parts, or "Wear" items, UCA W/baljoints, Lower balljoints, tie rod ends, ya know the works,

then I had other things happen.

Then I had a HeadGasket blow.
So I replaced the headgasket along with everything else in the engine bay,
I spent allittle over $500 for everything, Had the head cleaned etc..

Well, I drove it for a month and My rings blew. So right now, I'm carless,

Here are the pics now, WARNING: I'm a Picture *****

When I first got it.

4x4 OMG, lots of wheel gap!

A few parts on the floor and desk

My fish love Honda too!

Old picture

My girls

Spare header, (FS!!)

Had my Exhuast redone, New piping and new mounts and its now tucked up under the bumper, the tip sticks out about 1".

Blue int soon to be black

My DA9 with Grids, I like the look

Me with friends, my car is a little lower than everyone else

Most recent pics

Ok, now that the useless amount of pictures are over

My plans for the next few weeks are,

Swap out aold motor etc..
Sand and prep engine bay for paint, Paint.
Swap in Complete B16A swap from Hmotorsonline

Install Black panels and Black dash
Install Custom upper front strut bar, rear upper strut bar, and rear lower tie bar
Rewire fogs for indipendant power,
Polish Exhuast, IDK bored.
Sandblast, sand and polish and then clear coat Rear LCA,
Instal new Rear tailight with new gaskets,
Finish ICE. JVC Headunit, Kenwood front speakers and rear spekaers, Jensen amp and crap sub W/box,
And install OEM SideSkirts Rear lip and new front lip,

And plenty of other things,

Its nothing good, but hey, It on its way. One day.

You, your car, and your friends cars suck.

J/K, nice start, don't go my route with the money pit DA9's.. Haha, they start falling apart after 10 years or so.. I spent half on mods and half on basic upkeep. (Love DA's but saving for an EVO... or something of the like.)

Thanks,

yeah i'd love to go with GSR, but I went with B16A swap for three reasons,

Its the cheapest swap
I just need something that runs
And I'm poor

B16A complete swap, $1500,
Hopping to get a third of that with my old motor, tranny, two ECUs and bunch of other random parts, all it needs are rings.

Bump thanks guys,

BTW I ordered my Swap from HMO and should be here soon,

I'm about to swap out my current motor,
And clean clean clean, and then buff, polish and was the engine bay.

Along with taking a few hours cleaning the motor when it gets in,

Should look decent when done,

And this summer Paint is what headed for the DA9, It needs it.
I have been thinking about oing the $50 Paintjob thing,

Pedro!

Hey man, car looks good. Does it really need paint? I am gonna do the $50 paintjob this weekend and will let you know how it goes. The reason I am doing it - my car is beat to **** with TERRIBLE paint. Yours doesn't look half bad?

Hey, where did you get your exhaust piping redone at?

Good luck with the project, and if you ever need any help or anything let me know. We'll have to hang out some time.

Pedro = cool guy
