Default Lowering springs for EP3

I am looking for lowering springs for my 05 EP3. I would like to accomplish a 2.0 inch drop if possible. Ride comfort is not that important. I thought about the ground controls but heard they blow out your shocks. Any suggestions please post.

A 2" drop with stock shocks is not the best idea IMO.

Use H&R or Eibach springs and you´ll be fine. If you want to go lower then you should go for coilovers.

Apparently the S. Tech's are best. Good Spring rate.

2 inch drop usually means new shocks no matter what you get..

Yeah, there isn't a great assortment of springs and shocks for the EP3 (especially shocks).

I have a set of H&R springs for an EP3 that I'd sell rather cheap if you'd be interested. They work ok with stock shocks...no aftermarket spring works perfectly, unfortunately.

^^ agreed.

I used to have H&R on my ride with stock shocks; the shocks weren't stiff enuf.

If you MUST use stock shocks, go wit tein.

I've got progress springs on stock shocks w/ a spc camber kit. They say about 1.5" drop in the rear and 1.8" in the front, but I swear it's a lot lower in the back, maybe cuz I'm a fatass but still, lol... It's not 2" but it's close enough and the ride is still rather comfortable for daily driving (even though you said that doesn't matter).

It's not close up, but the wheel gap in the back is so small you can't fit a finger between them, it's not tucked though. It's just right, I think.

The rates on the df210s are very streetable, and as far as I remember they will give you the lowest drop possible with aftermarket springs on the ep if you are into that. Advertised at 2.0"f 2.3"r drop.

I picked up a set since they are very cheap and will hold me over and get rid of the 4x4 stance until I pickup a set of good coilovers. I've been daily driving on them for almost a year now, the struts can definitley use a replacement but they aren't unbearable for day to day driving. I'm just used to a much firmer suspension and get annoyed by how sloppy the stock struts can feel.

Just remember the safest way to go is with a mild drop or mugen ss since the tie rods attatched to the mac struts don't really get along with bigger drops. I do get some creaking from time to time, and thats another reason why I'll be getting a new suspension setup.

Best part is, they are usually inexpensive...will out perform eibach/H&R and all those other progressive rate street springs...

Just save up and buy some coilovers. D2 has some good quality coilovers which start at like 750 i believe.

N+ by far. Although it'll be a little more money than a spring/d-spec combo.

This is why...
-urethane isolated upper pillow-ball mount. Although the pillow mounts provide a harsher ride they are beneficial for fwd Mac-strut cars.
-15-way adjustable
-Ride Height is adjusted independently of preload
-And most importantly, the steering arm mount location on the strut is lowered which is very important. Only other option you have that has this feature is the Mugen SS which is a very good setup, albeit not as adjustable

My N+ are on order

if you're looking to lower at least 2" in the rear? the D2 application on the EP3 doesn't do that. i rode on D2's for at least 1 year.

they go for cheap nowadays. i've seen one for 150 or below. buddy had the link though. i bought my set in '03 for $200.
