Default Anyone have the TYC One-piece headlights with HIDs?

I was browsing the net and found that TYC makes a one piece with HIDs. Does anyone have and experience with these or know someone who has?

personally, i hate how they look. i remember a couple years ago when they were all over eBay as JDM 2 fast 2 furious 1-piece headlights, lol. maybe if they ditched tha blinkers and made it a non-1-piece headlamp. so, i could still use either my Vision or JDM corners.

on tha other hand, as they mention, it's: "SAE/DOT Compliant! SAE AIRST81DOT* Legal use on all public roads & highways. Certificate of Compliance pocket card is included."

i wonder how tha beam looks -- that's tha question. i wonder how they compare to s2k retrofits.

Edit: look at that price -- $549.95.

Edit: it says it uses a Philips D1S bulb @ 4300K. i wonder how easy it will be when comes time to replace bulbs.

this is why you've got to use their supplied washer tank cause tha driver's-side balast will hit, otherwise.

Edit: i think i'm feelin' these more than tha black-housing ones. i don't know. i'd have to see them on a car. i just want tha more "stock" look. man, you got me wantin' to buy a set, lol.

This is probably the worst I have ever seen contradiction in my life.

You didn't want them originally out of spite for the "jdm 2 fast 2 furious headlights" title you actually wanted to remove the one piece flow to add jdm or jdm type corners.

Then proceed to start asking questions about the HID systems TYC. The projector is still the same projector that's been used for the start it's not going to compare in any way to a s2000 projector.

And I doubt he got you wanting a set, in some form you actually seem to have already wanted these.

I seriously doubt they put a D1S in a stock halogen projector...

Outside of the addition of the H.I.D. system I'm not seeing a difference in the projectors. You find one, I'd be more than happy to change my opinion.

These aren't upgraded halogen bulbs, they aren't going to burn up the housing or the projector.

I think they looks great. And better yet, you can legally have HID's on the road. No more having cops pull you over and writing you a ticket for modified headlights. Show them the card that comes with the lights haying they are 100% legal.
Nice!

Thats not a bad price for that set. A complete retrofit is around that. It probably is a good projector if it takes D1S. Maybe Valeo?

i'm not sure i understand your grammar. i didn't want them before because i like the factory look. if i ever want to get them now, it would only be because of my interest in the fact that they aren't custom-made, but produced for their intended HID system, and also the fact that they are street-legal. i hated retro's when i had them. again, i like the factory look.

i mentioned it would look better if they weren't 1-piece and allowed for your own corner lamp. so?

and i proceeded to ask how they compared to any s2k projector (1st or 2nd gen HID's) because i don't know. i repeat, "i don't know."

i guess you knew they were the same projectors used in the non-HID headlamps. i didn't know that. how you knew, i have no clue, but i guess you did and you answered. can you also tell me how the cut-off is?

seeing as to how you speak, you may have misunderstood what you read to begin with.

You said you hated the look of lights and basically laughed at them in your first sentence, adding in a comment of the lights previous title of "jdm 2 fast 2 furious headlights", yet if ever a set came about without a corner you'd mate your jdm corner light to them. You hate the look, you laugh at them, you buy them. So yes, if that's not the case I had quite the time understanding what you wrote.

I only said what I said about the non-H.I.D. headlamps and H.I.D. ones is because what company is going to produce a different projector when they can just hop on the H.I.D. trend by adding the system to either get rid of a remaining stock of aftermarker headlights or continue producing the same ones for the same cost.

I've never seen an aftermarket projector compare to a factory one yet, and I'd be wishfully thinking if I thought TYC had.

Whether you understand me at this point or not, I can't help.

I have the tyc black housing. They look good and work great. I recommend putting some sealant on where the 2 pieces come together. One of mine gets moisture in it. When I take them off again im going to do that.

You're new, so search better than the few posts you've stumbled into.

Yeeeaaahhh.....ANYWAY...Does anyone have any experience with these or not? I only ask because in the event they're worth a ****, it's an awesome find on my part. I miss the HIDs in my S2k and really like the look of the one piece setup.

I know nothing about how HIDs function, but I always thought they're was a lot to them. I'm surprised to see them sold in a bolt-in headlamp form.

They are still fairly new, in all honestly I would Google for them. It will lead you to places and people who have them, it will give you more of the feedback you're probably looking for.
