People on here who have done the S2K antenna conversion complain about reception. There is a plug for some of the JDM ITRs that fills the antenna hole if you want to remove the antenna.

Right but he said he doesn't use the radio. A plug will look out of place.

The proper way to remove the antenna would be to shave the antenna. Unfortunately painting is expensive and a hassle. A plug is far cheaper than the S2K antenna.

just clip the wire behind the radio that turns the motor on, or get back there and unplug it, simple and done

In that case, just unplug the wire leading to the antenna. You can access then antenna by first pulling the interior tailgate lining. Then you need to remove the two 10mm bolts in the LR interior panel and the plastic screws. Pry the panel out until you can access the antenna wiring.

why not buy a nice deck? any deck that costs more than $50 only puts the antenna up when you have the radio on. i have a panasonic deck in my teg and a kenwood deck in my truck. both only turn the power antenna on when the radio is on.

if you dont use the radio it doesnt come up, unless you use the cd player, in that case just do a s2k antenna conversion

there is no way you have the same reception as before, unless you bought the amplifier, which would mean you spent closer to $100.

i don't mean the deck itself. i mean my antenna only goes up if the source is selected to radio(am/fm). on cd or aux the antenna is down.

LOL really, ok so im guessing you have actually been in my car and have all my preset stations checked?!?!?!

i know some people have shitty receptions but i have no problems... i am running the kit from rstor and its great, no significant in reception change... plus i forgot to mention that i live in the city that may have something to do with it!

next time, actually have the product in the same scenario before accusing something is false!!!

umm.. i had the s2k antenna and rstor kit for several years. AND, i live just south of Boston.

i'm telling you from personal experience, reception is worse. it's a physical impossibility for reception to be the same. don't believe me? find another teg with stock antenna and run a scan through the stations on both cars and compare..
