well....oem wheels accept acorn (rounded) lug nuts, and most aftermarket lug nuts are tapered. you can NOT mix and match.

yes, you technically can, if you're okay with your wheels falling off.

that was my point; they won't fall off immediately, but eventually

I'd suggest you not rock this as an everyday setup as it's not safe. But you can always throw them on in this setup for show if you really want to do it.

im sorry but this is just one of those thing that bother me when people say this,

acorn is not the seat of the lug nut, most honda's come with a acorn Ball seat lug nut. acorn is the head style, you can have a acorn conical seat lug nut that would not work on a honda.

seating surfaces

ball seat
conical seat
mag seat
im sure there are a few others but these are the main ones

head syles

acorn
open ended
tuner (spline)
hex, along with various other ones

im not trying to start a e-fight or anything, just one of those things that bother ,e

and to answer the op's question, the only way you can use light weight lug nuts safely on a honda oem wheel is if they are ball seat

and by that he means:

what is the point of using lightweight lugnuts if you haven't/aren't going to reduce the weight of your wheels first.

sorry if something was lost in translation

More or less, we (Honda people) are the only group of people who, from the factory, have what seems to be near aircraft quality cars, and become so meticulous that we worry about how much the lugnuts weigh; at the end of the day, we're still slow.

Freaking really people, save it for a tank of gas or something.

Just to clear things up, the only reason why i'm wondering about this is because, I have some work rs lugs and i'm about to sell my wheels so I was wondering if I could use them on the stock wheels..

Everything will seem fine, then one day your wheel(s) may fall off.

Is it really worth the risk?

no, you should always keep your set of stock lugs if you go with aftermarket wheels/lugs in the event you should have to go back to your stockers.

Just pick up a set of cheap steel, (but appropriately fitting), lugs from from pep boys to use while you have your stockers on. Just put the work lugnuts up for sale in the classifieds. Someone will buy them

unless you plan on going back to an aftermarket wheel and want to use them again

The reason you need to have the same shaped seating area on the lug nuts as on the wheels is so that there is contact throughout that area, where the force of the lug nut is applied to the wheel. If you use lug nuts whose seating area is a different shape from the seating area of the wheels, the contact is only along a circle, not across an area, and that can cause wear, enough to make the lug nut loose. Not a good idea.

you can't get a better explanation than that for this thread's purposes

Would the same apply for wheels that aren't from another honda? I have some vw rims on my car, and I'm using my oem lugs. Now do I have to use tunner lugs? Because in sense they are aftermarket wheels, but they are also oem wheels. Just not for our cars.

So the only type of lug nuts you can use on your oem wheels are ball seat lug nuts like the factory ones

You should always use lug nuts that have the same shaped seating area as the wheels.

I don't know whether the seating area on VW rims is ball-shaped or tapered. Whichever one they are, use lug nuts with the same shaped seating area. (If you're not sure, I find it's easier to determine by feeling the seating area with my fingertips than by looking at them.)

You can get either kind of lug nut (ball shaped seating area or tapered seating area) at auto parts stores ($1.19 each at Autozone); you don't have to use special "tuner" lug nuts.
