****Immobilizer Unit- Do I Need 2 Reprogr
I have a 2000 Integra GSR and I have to replace the Steering Column Pole. I am going to use the same ignition assembly but I have to unplug the ignition harness to replace the pole and then plug it back in from behing the fuse box, I think).
When I plug the ignition immobilizer harness back in will the car be able to start like normal or will I have to get it reprogramed by Acura???

you should be fine. the only thing in the ring around the key cylinder is usually just a coil of wire that picks up the frequency that the crystal in the key transmits. I unplug them all the time at work when I do remote starts, havent had a problem yet. just my .02, hope this helps.
he is right the immobilizer reciveris just a elctromagnet that powers the key transponder. you will be 100% fine i have replaced many at honda.
The coded information of the immobilizer is within the OBD2 ECU. Any components or hardware UPStream from that is just part of the system that retains no memory.
Iv'e never needed to disconnect anything when Ive installed remote starters in Honda/Acuras with Immobilizer systems, but Im sure you are fine with what you are doing.
