Default Kind of a silly question about cams

Im using stock b16 valves, 97 spec ITR valvesprings and retainers.
B16: head (milled), pistons (about 11.5:1 CR)
gsr: block, crank, rods

can I run skunk stage 2 cams with using ITR valvesprings?

it depends on if you have dual springs. i understand the only motors with dual springs on the intake AND exhust side are the type-r heads, in this case it would be okay but i would for sure think about investing in some new springs and retainers, cuz the skunk2 stage 2 cams are set up for high rpm, i redline at 9500, and i have the skunk2 stage 2 cams, with valve springs and retainers, so yeah you could live but it wouldnt be very safe

Rocket already answered this question. You're a newb, clearly do not have any idea on what you are talking about. Don't make posts in which you have no idea on what you are talking about please.

Try hoping off Rocket's nuts and let the thread go. I'm sure Rockets opinion is very credible, but others are more than welcome to put their opinions and experiences up without having someone be a dick about it. It is a PUBLIC discussion board afterall.

I realize this, but anyone who says running a 12.3 lift camshaft with stock valve springs is a fucktard. Sure, they may get away with it for a little bit, but consider yourself running on borrowed time. And is it really worth not spending an extra $250 bucks on good valvetrain and drop a valve, crack a sleeve, damage the piston and chew up the combustion chambers?? Last time I checked I wasn't riding anyones dick, I was stating facts , if thats something you're not into then thats fine, do your own thing.

Youre entitled to your opinion but so are these other people that are posting, so why cant you just keep your 2 cents to yourself and let them give some input. I never said anyone was wrong or right, its just irritating to see people like you posting just to be a dick over the internet. stating facts? you just BARLEY give some constructive input to the thread, prior to that you were being pretty negative.

but hey i dont wanna expletive this guy's thread up so i'll leave it at that.

i have to agree with clean rice.... its pretty straight forward w/o valvesprings bad w/ valve springs good.

u people are entertaining me, this is great. itr springs + s2 sg2 cams= miss one shift and u will regret it. do it once, do it right. get springs/retainers. if u can afford the cam, u can afford whats needed to finish the job.

Honest answers (Rocket) do not mean crap when ther are so many (?) experts on here. And yes you can go to 9500on B-20 rods (LOL) I read it here.
BUY springs and retainers, you will appreciate it later.
