Transmission Gear Ratio and Speeds
This is what I have found out for the Gear Ratio of both models of the Fit
All of these are @ 6,300 RPM
1st - 3.462 @ 28.85
2nd - 1.870 @ 53.42
3rd - 1.321 @ 75.61
4th - 0.970 @ 102.98
5th - 0.757 @ 131.95
Final - 4.294
These are very close #'s to the RSX Base Model and the USDM S1/Y1 & S80 Transmission Ratios.
This is good to hear and means even with the power the fit has it should be fairly quick 1st-3rd for a car with 109 HP

Carbon clutch, metal/carbon LSD, & final gear for Honda "Fit"(GD3)
ATS will release carbon clutch, metal/carbon LSD, and final gear for Honda "Fit" in January (2005). During the test period, we have received very positive feedback from the selected customers. Especially our carbon LSD were well received with little chattering noise and much better performance than the stock differential, which made "Fit" a fun to drive. The gear ratio for the final is 4.563 (11% shorter)</TD></TR></TABLE>
I dunno how much all this stuff will cost but I think the carbon clutch is supreme overkill if it's like the super singles pictured below.

However, I do think a metal or carbon LSD is necessary for those who are considering making it more than a comfy people hauler....
I also seem to recall ATS released a closer 4th and 5th gear but I suck at the search right now and can't confirm....

Well Spoon Sport and J's Racing also make final drives and clutches for it. But in the end Hasport did confirm to "JDMLVR" on H-T that
"We will be making mounts for the Fit with a K-series swap. We are waiting to get our hands on a Fit to develop the mounts."
This is something that even I will be looking into this winterfor mine once I have everything else done. That I have already on order.

That second gear overall speed is too low for autocrossing. Though the numbers for second and for the FD are very similar to that of my 2006 Civic LX Coupe, I at least have the "luxury" of having a car that will hit the proverbial 60mph mark in second... Which as you know is a common benchmark when comparing autocross cars.
Only being able to do 53-54 in second. I dunno. Not in STS. You will definitely have to raise that number and run a 16" wheel to make that ratio seem TALLER so that you can squeeze a few extra mph out of second.

True... Running at a ProSolo may not be as big an issue as the courses are usually tighter and slower; but at a Tour, you really don't want to be shifting two, maybe three, times in a run.
I don't know how long you've been autocrossing, or what your experience level is, but I started in 1994 and have been competing nationally since 2000. In those 12+ years, I have never come across a person who is happy at a BIG event to find themselves LOSING TIME by having to shift up and then down, regardless of how well they heel-toe.
I'm just trying to help you out. In HS or STS, there are established vehicles already in place that are dominating the standings. I am trying to topple the base MINI in HS and you may go after the 89-90 Civic Si in STS. Either way we've got a battle on our hands and we both want to succeed.
