so i dynoed my car today with jason hunt... pics of setup and info herehttps://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1501763... so jason get the car straped down did some partial throttle tuning... made the first pass and it made 378whp and 275 ftq at like 12psi or so only reving to 6500rpms becasue the clutch toasted its self.. not bad for a t3/t67ho... took the tranny off when i got home.... and i find that the disc closed to the flywheel had welded its self to the floater plate sweet. just order part from terry boostfed to get it back together.... here are some pics of the clutch. i had to torch the floater plate to get it off thats why its all bent up..

that's an accomplishment in itself to bust up a twin disk...

but at only 275ft/lbs...sounds like something went wrong?

 

no ****...maybe u installed it wrong or sumthing...im hoping thats the problem becuase i have one yet to install...

 

well i had almost 14,000 miles 120 dyno pulls and a full season of racing out of it soo it lasted a good amount of life out of it.. no it was installed right when i putt it in last winter.... so dont even say that

 

well..i guess it makes sense if you drove it hard all season.....how much is the rebuild??

 

its around $550 but im getting it shipped over night

 

I wish i had a twin disk, but then again. My 2.0 LSvtec make the same ftlbs w/ 366whp on my single disk ACT

haha no way jason is a good guy. tried working around it.. hes put alot of his own time into it other than just tuning it.

niiice...that was a fun ride home from virginia...had to stop like every 10 mins to let the bitch cool down so we could drive another couple miles in dead stop traffic. then get pulled over by a van cop.

 

the van cop was such a dick.... im with the department of defense let me see your license and regestraion... ok but wtf did i do... haha

 

also the only things that changed from the my last dyno was i added 01 spec usdm it-r cams and a bigger intercooler

 

i got 5 months out of my twin disk and got fucked out of a clutch after i sent it back in to them they told me it was improper break in then they said to much power i say there full of **** and they wont even help me on the cost of another clutch so f&^k EXEDY

im about to install my competition clutch, id hate for something like this to happen to me. What kind of install errors is possibel to make? All you need to do is bolt the clutch on the flywheel and get it aligned, and put the throw out bearings?

Someone please input, im getting paranoid

 

I personally think Buck has too much power and a bunch WAY bad 1-2 shift bogs. He hurt it REALLY bad on the last run in Pomona. The vid shows where he hurt it, when I saw the vid I was like (OUCH!!!) I tried to get Buck a new one but they think that since he got a full season out of it then he got enough out of it. I guess it is a race car and things DO break sometimes.
My current twin disc has a lot of passes, street driving and dyno time. EXEDY

what it all comes down to.

 

I think any twin disc is going to have issues with 14k on it... they are just not meant to last that long, as soon as the material gets worn a way from were and tear daily driving ,full boost pulls , it is eventually gonna slip, and when it slips a whole bunch the heat kills everything.... I think it may have been my driving on the dyno that did it...

I bought competition twin disc and we'l how it treats me.

 

well im not bad mouthing cort nor the sale representative they were super helpful and cort help me so much. He did what he could to get what he can do to help me but i was super happy while i had the clutch it was a nice enguagement and held prettyy good but bogging i cant see destryoing a clutch as bad as it was torn up

the car probably was making to much power but i really thought for a $1200 clutch they would have at least help me a little even 100 bucks but it was normal price no break or nothing to help but hey its a race car so i got fucked out of a clutch and ill move on and wont bring it up again .
