Default DIY ls/vtec on my 96 rs

I have a 96 Integra RS and I wanted to share the news of her successful ls/vtec conversion. My brother and I did it all in our garage, one day for taking it all apart and one day for putting it all back together. I wish now that I had taken more pictures of the process

All taken apart:

All put back together:

the head is a '91 b16 and other than that all I have at the moment is DC 4-1 header and that CAI. That's her! Hope you like

rerouting the oil line is as simple as buying a Golden Eagle ls/vtec kit...they even supply a tap and plug for the oil port...every gasket..including the head gasket.

was super easy! used a Golden Eagle ls/vtec kit that came with everything you need to avoid tapping the block to run a new line and all that. It connected an oil line to an attatchment to the oil filter, then just run that to the head. Also came with instructions that walked you through it all. Got it from robear racing:

Been a few months since we did this and going on 10k miles and still no problems. I only take it up to around 7.5k RPM at the most and have haven't noticed any problems at all.

I took it to the track before the work and it ran a best 1/4 in 15.69 and it feels a LOT faster now, the top end pulls like 3x harder.

Mind sharing with us what exactly are the parts needed for this conversion? I wanna do this to my LS 1.8 after I swap out my auto trans.

Thanks

All I bought was the complete head, a vtec ECU, the GE kit, and ordered all new bolts and such from a Honda dealer. Also ended up needing a longer radiator hose. Then you just need wires and whatnot for the vtec. Might be a couple little things I'm forgetting, but that's about it.

stock injectors from my b18b and fuel rail and such from the b16, still stock fuel pump. p72 ecu.

edit: trial account, can only post 5 times in 24 hours, I'll keep answering questions and such when I can.

Guy who posted a couple down: I ran the 15.6 BEFORE the work, so that was stock LS as well.

i got a 91 ls i just bought, and i just bought my friends 92 gsr for a g, for the suspension and brakes and interior. the head was rebuilt on his and has like 3k miles on it and he shot a rod through the block but head is perfect. would a ls/vtec swap be the same as what you did? i have complete head it has aftermarket intake manifold/throttle body and of course i have the ecu. what did you do about knock sensor

yes the setup would be the same for you you do not have to worry about a knock sensor because those blocks dont have em...

I agree that a stock P28 isn't the best ECU to run, but there's nothing wrong with B18B injectors. They're 240cc like all other B/D series injectors.

i though adding one was part of doing the swap? using what head doesnt require that?

its only needed if your running a stock b16 or gsr ecu. but if you have a chipped p28 or chipped b16, gsr ecu, then there is no need for a knock sensor.
