Vigor Motor Swap? .. Anyone?
any one know of anyways to do a b series or h series swap into a 93 vigor? ever hear of anything.. i cant find anything on the net and that 5 cyl motor is unbuildable...
A legend swap is too big. You wouldnt be putting enough power in that car with a B series (unless you boosted it) and an H series doesnt seem likely. I think your screwed.

Agreed. Well, at least with the "put a B series in a vigor" and "much heavier than a civic." Four doors has nothing to do with it.
First off, although alot of people sleep on the G25A (Vigor) motor, it does make pretty decent power. It might not make the most horsepower out of a honda engine and there might not be any v-tec but the engine is still pretty good.

g25a (US) : 176 HP ~167 TQ
g25a (JDM): 190 HP ???TQ (i dont remember the actual torque number for the JDM motor, but most likely it is high than 167)
Although the Vigor might not have as much horsepower as the H, it does have more torque and if u didnt know.....torque is your friend
Now if you do decide that you want to do a swap, then i would personally recommend sourcing an Acura Legend Type II motor...V6 230 HP. I've never heard of someone swapping a Legend motor in a Vigor though, but anything is possible with the right amount of money.

By that statement, i'm assuming that you are a new Vigor owner. One thing that you'll learn is that when it comes to trying to build your Vigor, you are very limited when it comes to parts. That is where the fun comes in, because you get to do some custom work. Also, dont forget that although you have an Acura Vigor, you also have many other family members w/ the same genes as you in the Honda/Acura world.
For example...if you are looking for a suspension setup for your vigor (shocks w/ springs or full coilover set up) you can look for the suspension for the 90-97 Accord (non-V6 i believe).
Exhaust...as simple as buying an aftermarket muffler and going to a muffler shop and having them put it on for you.
Intake...this isn't really that difficult. I know of two ways people have done this in their Vigor. You can either go to a muffler shop and have them make the piping for you or if you want to piece together your cold air intake, you will need the following parts.
-Short Ram intake for a GSR
-3" 90 degree piping
-3" bypass valve (not necessary but highly recommended)
Braking...eBay has Goodridge stainless steel brake lines for the Vigor. In the search, just type in 'Vigor Brake' and scroll down to the eay store. You'll be looking at about $160 before shipping. eBay also has the rotors for the Vigor, but if you choose, you should also be able to use the brakes from a 90-97 Accord. The Acura Legend GS also came with twin piston calipers for the front. I'm not sure if those will work, but I should be getting around to trying to do the swap soon, so i'll post here when i do.
Well, as you can see, the list can go on and on, as I haven't even covered the head yet. It all depends on how deep into it you would like to go and how much you are willing to spend.

wow, that was alot of helpful info j-spec. your right, i am a new vigor owner. and by no means am i trying to build something thats gonna dust anyone, just want some more *****. the only reason i suggested a h or b series is because they are very buidable, parts readily availible, and have v-tec plus many after market parts. would any of the motors talked about bolt up to the stock vigor trans? (because it has a diff) i guess if i need to chang e the trans i'll do a conversion- cuz right now its automatic. i dont know much about this car, but am learning alot as i go. all the help is greatly appreciated. (not to kiss @ss or anything)

Its not my ride.
I believe it is a guy in FL. He had custom headers made along with all the piping and exhaust.

Do you realize how much work is involved in an engine swap? Its not worth it man.
If you really want a B o H series engine, then get a car that is made to take it. You're just gonna
give yourself a headache if you try to swap out the engine in that car.

I'm loving all the info on customized Vigors.
I myself am just getting started on a 93 Vigor and can't seem to catch any luck with finding anyone to import a set of projector one piece headlight assemblies.
If anyone has suggestions on where to look or who to talk to please post.

I'm going to be doing my custom cold air intake on mine soon, and when i do i'll take pics and try and do a write up.
For the black one piece headlight, you can try eBay. You can either type in 'vigor jdm' or 'cc2 headlight.' You're looking at between $200-300 after shipping.

most fabricators can make headers from scratch. alot of big blocks in american cars require custom made headers.
this is an awesome thread people!! love the turbo set up on that car! i'm also looking for the one piece headlights- those are sooo sweet.

Have you done this? I cross checked the part numbers for Monroe shocks for 1993-94 Vigor vs. 1990-1993 and 1994-96 Accords. They don't match. Couple of thoughts:
1. I am looking for Bilsteins for my Vigor. If they were to work, cool. If not...
2. and if you haven't done it, passing out bad info is not cool.
Thanks for your contribution.

I haven't done it myself, but when I was in college (and i had my 90 Accord...R.I.P.
) one of my boys had a red 94 Vigor (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/260943) and when he dropped his, he used some coilovers from a 90-97 Accord, but kept his factor shocks. He has now moved on to a Dropzone full suspension setup (coilovers and shocks)...which he got from the 90-97 Accord. I think the Vigor is heavier than the Accord, so if you use Accord drop springs, it will most likely be lower than what the spring is rated for an Accord.
PS...that kit that he has on there can't be bought. he brought the car back with him to Aruba when he finished school and had it custom made there....

tell me more about the headlights you are selling. How much do you want for them? I'd appreciate to be able to see pics of them, and out of curiosity, where would you be sending them from.
My first question is why swap a much less displacement motor into a big car like a vigor? You should swap something in there equal if not better IMO. I mean you can do the motor swaps but it would be a waste of money since you will have a lack of torque and the vigor is a big car. Id say run the I5 motor.
