Don't listen to what your freind says unless he has the same car you have with the same springs you want.

Exactly. Some cars have a higher wheel gap at stock height, so to lower the car to let's say 2 finger gap all around, it takes a larger drop versus a car that's lower at stock height.

We are running Koni shocks with Skunk 2 adjustable springs - its nice to be able to adjust the height exactly where you want it.
Good Luck

if your car is a daily driver AND you track the car regularly, i would really recommend getting adjustable suspension. i have never had adjustable springs, but i have had adjustable tokico shocks and they make a huge difference in comfort and handling.

here are good springs that i can vouch for:
H&R - both sport and race (<- variable rates)
Neuspeed - both sport and race (<-variable rates)
B&G - nice daily driver springs
skunk2 - a little hard for street use IMO (<- height adjustable)

and shocks that i will vouch for:
tokico - both HP and Illumina (<- adjustable)
KYB - AGX (<- adjustable)
Koni - non-adjustable (i have yet to try the adjustable)

H&R and Neuspeed springs are basically the same things with different brand names on them. variable springs have multiple spring rates, so they are soft for daily use, but then if you push on them you will feel the stiffer side of them. sport springs are nice if you daily drive more than you track, and race springs are nice if you track more than you daily drive. good luck with your choice and i hope i helped.

Oh ya, and get a good alignment after you lower the car, don't worry about camber kits unless the alignment shop says you will need one.

^ I would like to know the same. Also what does everyone think of the "ebay" coilover springs? I'm on a budget and I know they aren't the best things but how well do they do their job? Thanx

some alignment shops might lie and say that you NEED to correct your camber.

a lot of shops don't even know what a camber kit is (aroudn my parts of new england anyways)

my friend's mechanic told him he needed new shocks and springs because he has the ebay dropzone coilover sand kyb agx struts and his alignment was off. he's stupid. I'd stay away from the ebay stuff. lots of those places can't even be positive what kind of spring rates they have. I found the website for dropzone before and they had a list of what the drop was using their coilovers for a 4th gen lude and i think it was aroudn 2.3 inches front and 2.1 rear.. I don't know if that was at lowest setting, highest setting, or in the middle..

Anybody have skunk 2 lowering springs? They claim to lower 2.25" front and 2.0" in the back. How is the ride comfort?

i have a 98 BASE and i got neuspeed sports springs...no shocks yet. but they lowered it about 1.5 in and they feel just about the same as the stock stiffness...it's a really smooth ride. so you might wanna think about those. they are pretty affordable as well. but don't go down the same road i did: buy shocks and springs at the same time and switch it all out at once cuz now i gotta do the whole thing over again when i find the $$ for shocks.

camber is the angle from side to side that the wheel is looking straight from the front of the car. If you are looking straight from the front of the car, right down the line of the car and the wheel is tilted towards the motor a little that is negative camber. And a little tilt away from the motor is positive camber. There is a correct camber setting and alignment for every car. It changes as you drop the car. If you are staying 1.5 inch and above a camber kit is uneeded. If you want to go lower you will need a camber kit.

EBAY springs are just springs from ebay.com???
They have generic cheap springs and other random things claiming to be "REALJDM"
