Congrats to Hasport, winning a fast VW on Pinks..
We were definately outgunned on this one, our mid 12 second car against a low 10 second turbocharged/nitrous fed air cooled VW. We didn't stand much of a chance, luckily for us, they broke an axle on the last race.
Regardless, we were basically given this car, the race was a complete mismatch of cars.
It was all done for charity, after the show is aired, both cars will be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to the American Diabetes Foundation.
The Hasport car was a 90 CRX with a stock H22A motor (shameless plug for the new EFH1 kit), Accord transmission, and some nitrous.

Thanks to all who helped out, it was a fun time..

There are some in CA but, The fastest are out here (This is coming from a former CA street racer). I'm glad I live on the east cast now (Not for street racing though)

The VW guys were tightening bolts after every round, and checking the plugs, while we just left the hood shut and kept running it with the Honda reliability it had..

Congrats on winning Hasport and also good to see they are donating to American Diabetes Foundation. I found out I have Diabetes a few months ago, definate lifestyle change! Of the fun of pricking your finger everyday and taking pills and going to the Dr over and over and over, also being Hypoglycemic and almost falling out at the TRACK.

they "conveniently" left out the 22 car head start in one race, and the 1/8 mile head start in another, and the 1/4 mile head start (in a 1/4 mile race) in another! LMAO
I'd be embarrassed to have "won" anything in this manner, and certainly wouldn't be telling anyone about it.
I think Hondas are great cars (have owned 2), but gimme a break already.

Aircooled John, I'm more than happy to get all the facts out, feel free to post. I'm posting in hopes that it will draw more attention to this episode. I think you have your facts wrong though.. The first two races we had a 10 car head start. Yes, after we got our asses kicked in the first two races, the host gave us an 1/8th mile head start. It made for a horrible race. The next race we were given for some reason, I missed that part as I was checking out the car. After that, we were given a 400 foot head start, and on the launch, the axle broke on the VW, and we "won" by default.. All in all, it was a joke of a race, and the most important part is that it was all done for charity. Am I wrong here?
man, bagging on the vw cause of a broke axle? all cars break axles. looks like they brought a nice car though , and will bring some good money for charity.
