Just got home. Had a small heart attack last Saturday at breakfast and had quadruple bypass on Monday. This year some of that racing budget money type stuff is gonna hafta go toward deductibles and copays and such. BTW - my real age for anyone who doesn't know is 44.
Scott, who feels really good and was Suuuuuper fortunate to have mini-minimal heart damage...

In other words, glad you're ok.

Ooch. Glad to hear you are OK, mon. Kirk is equally 44 and just had his licensing physical last week. Cholesterol is down, weight is up (a temporary condition), but EKG is great.
Those of you who are 20-somehing out there - or 30-something for that matter - do NOT **** away your youth. Adulthood is a sneaky bastard.

I was in downtown Boise, Idaho, and I saw a duck, and I knew the duck was lost, 'cause ducks ain't s'posed to be downtown. There's nothin' for 'em there. So I went to a Subway sandwich shop, I said, "Let me have a bun." But she wouldn't sell me just the bun, she said that I had to have something on it. She told me it's against regulations for Subway to sell just the bun. I guess the two halves ain't supposed to touch. So I said, "Alright, well, put some lettuce on it," which she did. She said, "That'll be $1.75." I said, "It's for a duck." And they said, "All right, well, then it's free." See, I did not know that. Ducks eat for free at Subway! Had I known that, I would have ordered a much larger sandwich. "Let me have the Steak Fajita Sub - but don't bother ringing it up, it's for a duck! There are six ducks out there, and they all want Sun Chips!"

Scott, may the recovery process be speedy for you, and am glad to hear your doing pretty good all things considered.
Man, this is pretty shocking news, I am 40 now and was a little suprised when the Doctor recommended I see him annually, being that I am 40. Before that visit, I saw the Doc about once a decade.

Get well soon Scott! Was it hard to find a veterinarian willing to do heart surgery on a wiley old coyote?

Ahhh yesssss... Age.
Before the age of 30 I never got sick, never went to the dr., and never had any drugs around other than Goodies powder (for hangovers).
Then... In the past 8 years I've fallen apart. Blown spinal disks, arthritis, pinched nerves in my neck that causes my left hand to go numb ( I keep dropping dishes and glasses).
So now I find myself in a doctors office about 6 times a year, which I feel is, well, alot. Now, things hurt alot, and instead of having a beer and rubbing some dirt in it, I go get checked out.
And these odd phantom pains... What the f*ck is that all about?
Just today my right nut started hurting for no good damned reason. Hurt like hell for about 10 minutes, then it was fine.
Great. Now I'm all scared something is wrong with my nard.
Enjoy being young. Our bodies can be quite bitchy, especially if we dont take care of them.
Hey Scott, when you feel up to it (IF you feel up to it) I know some of us in the 40 range would like to hear some of the technical stuff. High cholesterol? High stress? Genetics? What does you doctor think was the issue?
I know you are a pretty healthy guy, at least outwardly.
Scott, who has a family history of heart disease on one side of the family and a history of cancer on the other, so I'm not looking forward to getting old.

I also don't know you Scott, but I wish you a safe and speedy recovery.
PS for all of those worried about getting older, don't. But eating right and exercise is super important for everyone. Also not being stressed with life has alot to do with your health....
Live life to the fullest, my grampa just had his 90th birthday and hes been through d-day, and a hard life being the youngest of 9 brothers. He still drives and does woodworking at his home.

Well, that is 308 in dog years, so I guess when you look at it that way, you're doing pretty good.
Seriously though, quadruple bypass at 44 for a guy who is pretty fit? Crazy stuff. I'm glad it looks like you're gonna pull through ok.
