Good tuners in portland?
I just put in some OS CTR pistons in my b16 im looking for a good dyno in Portland Oregon. Anyone know if anyone in portland tunes with crome or neptune? My friend has a GSX and he just upgraded the turbo in it and needs to do some dyno tuning as well. Anyone know of any AWD dynos in portland?
I will be in Seattle/Portland area on Feb 11-12 to do some tuning. Crome, Hondata, AEM, K-pro. Probably street tune only unless you can muster up a dyno since I am unfamilair with the area.

I am flying into Seattle to go to a structures training course at Boeing. I can tune on the weekend of Feb 10-12th.

Awesome ill have to give them a call. Ive decided i want to just get a baseline and then learn how to tune with crome myself. I hate relying on people, ive been fucked to many times. My buddys all live like 3 hours from portland cause i go to college here and they are all comming up for the first track day at portland raceway. and we all wanted to hit the dyno and see what we were making the same weekend we go to the track.

The only person I'd go to in Portland is Jeff San Juan. Use to work at Torquefreaks, now he's at RRev Motorsports.
He tuned my setup:
.25mm over P30 pistons w/ oem rings
stock rods and rod bolts
Resurfaced head
Portflow dual valvesprings and Ti retainers
Rocket M22 cams (early version)
CTR crank pulley
OBDII H22A injectors (290 cc)
AEBS Intake mani
Hondata S100
Ghetto jdm "style" 4-1 header
60mm unmodified Apexi Worldsport exhaust
187whp/131tq with on Torquefreaks' dyno.
This is with blown rings, bent valves, and valve lash not set.
He has tuned numerous 200+ whp b-series on the same dyno and he drives quite the beast himself. Maybe he'll chime in.
If you need to get in contact with him asap, let me know.

Is this the same Jeff that drives the white 92-5 coupe? If so, I'm WAY BUMMED that he doesn't work there anymore, I have heard nothing but good things about Torque Freaks. We have Ground Zero also, but I've heard that their answer to tuning is by just dumpin a buncha fuel at it. I wouldn't hesitate to have my car tuned at Torque Freaks as long as the Jeff I'm thinking about is still there, he was their "Honda specialists."

Yup same Jeff. He works at RRev now, right off I-5, Jantzen Beach.

If it's one thing that Ground Zero has it's allot of money. I mean, it's obvious that they can tune because they have the cars and hp to back it up, and I personally think Brian is cool as hell. But something about Torque Freaks seems more professional ya know?
I havent been there yet. But ima definatly have to check it out. See if i cant get some sort of deal on the dyno since alot of people are gonna get there cars dynoed.
I'm definitely going to have to recommend Ground Zero Motorsports.
After seeing all of the threads, and videos that have been posted by them, I'm just amazed by the extent of their work.

First hand experiences > biased threads and "m@D t0ite" videos.
Not hatin' on GZ, but your recommendation has no validity. Sorry.

I've heard more good things about Torque Freaks than I have about Ground Zero.
I will personally be taking my car to TF in the near future...hopefully.

I just checked out their website. http://www.torquefreaks.com. They look very clean and professional. From reading their mission statement and costumer reviews they sound like they are a pleasent to deal with. This is a big thing for me cause it seems like every shop i go to everyone is major ******** and they dont care about their customers which is probably why alot of these shops dont make it. Anyways im gonna cruise down there tomarrow and talk to them about renting the dyno.
The "Honda Specialist" from TorqueFreaks was Jeff who is now at RRev (they've been opened less than a month). So if you've heard good things about TF's tuning pertaining to Hondas, then that was more than likely Jeff you were hearing about.
If you're just renting out the dyno, either is fine but RRev's dyno has the ability to measure load. Torquefreaks has a 4wd dyno.

Check out there race cars!

I went to torque freaks today finally. I must say it was an awesome experience. Right when i got there the owner came and talked to me right away about setting up a dyno day. It was awesome he hooked me up with a good price and i was very impressed at how clean their shop was and how nice everythign was. TORQUE FEAKS
Im terrible with names so i dont member his name. He said its normally 65 per person but he said he would give me their pre-race season dyno deal of 40 bucks a person for baseline and 50 for baseline with AFR. If you are interested in meeting me and my buddys their on march 10th let me know. We are heading down to PIR afterwards when it opens at 4.

for tuning. But once you get your car tuned and dyno anywhere else besides ground zero stop by ground zero and dyno your car on there mustang dyno. The reason is there dyno reads alot higher than any dyno jets in town.

Im gonna learn crome and do my own tunning so i will prolly just rent the dyno from torque freaks when i decide to do my tuning also. But worst case scenario i will go to rrev to get tuning if i cant figure out crome. But im pretty sure i will have no problem figuring it out. Rrev has a pretty nice website i think i will stop by their shop to check it out just for ***** and giggles.
