Default LS/vtec build

Doing the build this saturday! and im getting excited

heres the list of parts that i have, let me know if i am forgetting anything

-93 JDM GSR P72 head, milled 20 thousandths of an inch
-GSR timing belt
-GSR cams (should be the ITR's my friend has promsed me for the past 4 months)
-GSR head bolts
-ITR valvetrain
-LS headgasket
-P30 pistons with brand new OEM rings
-ARP 8mm rod bolts
-ACL b18b bearings
-Oil feed line
-B16 water and oil pumps
-CBR 954 DIY itbs
-P28 chipped ECU
-Plastiguage and a micrometer

will post pics after it is complete and dyno number a few days after!

here is the donor car it is going into

BUILD PICS

first we started by taking off the old LS head, and putting all the little nuts and bolts into bags so they wouldnt get lost

Then I wrapped the LS cams in newspaper so they would not get damaged

After the head was removed and set aside I put the LSvtec sandwich plate where the oil filter was located

After this the oil pan was dropped, the widege tray removed and the LS pistons and rods were taken out

Brand New OEM rings were put onto the P30 pistons

Once the pistons were tapped in the block then the LS head gasket, and dowel pins were set in place and the head was put on with GSR head bolts and torqued to 62 foot pounds with Calvins trusty snap-on torque wrench

Then the ACL bearing clearances were measured and the rod bolts were toqrued dowd to 30 foot pounds
After the oil pan and widege tray were put back on and the B16 oil pump bolted on the AN fitting was put into the back of the head

after all this fun the Skunk2 intake manifold was put on (we all had to throw the shocker in this pic )

then the cams were placed in with a good dose of redline assembly lubricant, and the caps were torqued down to 12 foot pounds

After all the work the rest was spent on putting the timing belt on and pluging up the rest of the sensors and here is the finished product

Hope you enjoyed

Sounds good man...nice *** Integra too. It will put out close to 200 I'm sure. Just wait until you get some cam in that beast though. I'm working on an LSVTEC too, but still in the part-collecting stage. Good luck...never knew I was sigworthy either haha.

haha, i just saw your post on omnimans thread about his 250 whp b20 and thought the same thing about how we do everything to get as much power as we can and only seem to make it in the low 200's but he can throw together a 250whp monster

You'll be able to take it pretty close to nine grand. I'd stick to 8500 to be safe, but see where it makes power of course. With GSR or ITR cams you won't need to go quite that high anyway so...

Yeah definitely, people often go to 8500+, but you should only rev as high as you make power.

the build has started

got the pistons in and the head on, now i have to torque down the rod bolts and do the timing belt and oil pump and i am done

took off the head, got the pistons out, put the new pistons in and put the vtec head and manifold on all in abour 4 hours, pretty good time i think

pics will be up tomorrow after completion!!
