Re: OBD Connector not reading (96dc2)
The OBD service connector will only work with the same OBD ECU. IE: A '97 ITR OBD connector will only work with a OBD2a ECU.
I am not positive if the service connector will work with a JDM ECU either.

The JDM ECU's do not have the OBDII service connector plug electronics in them. You must run a USDM ECU for the OBDII service connector to work. Also, if you have a JDM motor you will not be able to run the USDM ECU without adding a VTEC Oil pressure switch on your VTEC Solenoid and a CKF sensor on your oil pump. The JDM ITR motors do not come with these sensors.
