Default What is this gunky stuff?

Yesterday I was going under the freeway pass and their was a big puddle blocking up both lanes, so I put my gear in neutral and cruised thru the puddle @ 10mph.

When I got home, I pressed the lock button on my alarm, and noticed the siren didn't make the usual noise. It sounded like it was dying. And there were alot of things wet.

Today, I checked my engine oil, it was fine.
The siren still sounds like its dying.
I took off my oil cap.. and I saw some gunk, which looks what to be like my engine oil in solid form

Also I caught some water in my corner lamp..

What is this gunky stuff?
Will I need to replace my siren?

From the photos and you description of the situation, it appears to be a water/oil mixture.

dude, oil change, then compression test. What does your coolant look like. I think you just fucked something up badly. Like headgasket
but why is this **** all over the place?

And I think the siren is the least of your problems...

ah **** are you running a cold air intake, or was your intake soeaked in water. If you sucked water in hopefully the water just went thru a breater tube and mixed with oil (therefore the milky ****). If it got sucked into the engine you could of blew the headgasket (at least), bent a rod and other not good ****...

Weird. He said his engine oil is fine. But pudding in your valvecover is a sighn of a leaking headgasket. Maybe your valve cover breather sucked in oil???

drain it. oil it and drain that to get all the sludge out.

when you start it again use some seafoam...

good luck man.

hope it turns out well.

your siren should be ok. there might be water in it but once all the water dries off or gone the siren should be good again. my friend had that problem a few times with his alarm.

Yep, looks like your breather sucked in madd water, these things arent jet-skis. Naw, j/k. BUt yeah, drain it and run some cheap oil through it a couple times to get all that gunk out. Then refill it again. And maybe run some seafoam through it as well.

Hope that solves it man, you dont wanna miss the Meet!

Here are some pics I took today. I'm going to do a oilchange(s) and a compression test today.

what engine is that by the way...

um you should definitely change all the fluids... lets say if there was some water in it the engine is basically trying to compress the water as gas, thats definitely a BOOM BOOM, soon.

prolly not. Video would help. It is still prossible that the rod bent a little, if water got in the combustion chamber. Is coolant still perfectly green? Is oil looking fine, or is it turning milky again.

OOOOO dooood. LOL. U sucked water up your cold air intake. Oil change and then run the car with the valve cap off. I heard that this helps. You might have to do an engine flush 1st and then run some cheep oil thru before completing the oil change.
