last SIX digits of ur VIN# : does it match ur SERIAL #?
i am trying to fight my case with the cops https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1461013
i need help to see if the last SIX digits of ur VIN# match up with ur OBD-I 94-95 SERIAL number of ur TRANNY SERIAL NUMBER. i know the tranny serial number has SEVEN digits, and the VIN # last degits are 6 DIGITS = SERIAL number.. so im trying to prove to cops that how can u trace if ur tranny was stolen or not. Someone with a 94-95 Integra please help me out and see if my hypothesis is correct. so i dont end up losing my tranny, paying for labor to take it out (impound charges $500), buying new one ($400LS-$600GSR), paying for labor to put in new one($100), impound fee's ($1000+) and i didnt even do anything wrong

I thought you didnt have a sticker on your tranny?
I went to check mine but it wasnt there. I forgot that it fell off when I rebuilt my motor.

man if i were to get a lawyer, i could only sue the person who sold me the car b/c it was sold w/o a serial # sticker.. the cops said they arnt at fault for towing my car b/c its code violation #7XXXX ( i forgot the exact code ). iono man i dont know how to deal with this because my vin had no serial number and i cant prove that the tranny is legit because maybe the person who sold me the car threw away all the paperwork for it.. cops even threated that next time they see me down 905, they are going to arrest me and put me in jail because im hanging around or affiliated with "street racers".. ****** bs

same thing happened to me i went to university acura where i live and they gave me a paper that showed that those trannies didnt come with vins and the ones that did was just a sticker that could come off really easily with just a wash of the motor. i got a lawyer and they realesed my case.

This sounds like they assume you are guilty until proven innocent. A lawyer would have a field day with this. File a civil suit.
I am glad that the police are taking an interest in stolen parts, but they need to go proceed appropriately.

Technically they cannot open your hood without a warrant unless you give them permission (fourth amendment). They can hold you and your car until they do get a warrant.

so this means that you would have to go to the dealership and buy one for $2000. thats the only way you can prove its not stolen. (waste of money though)
i say you get a hold of 47 on your side and tell them your story... then you might get the responce you want from those pigs...

That is ridiculous, they could do a mobile sniff at the tail-pipe. So, I assume that this law allows them to look for emissions violations, not possibly stolen parts. I would hope that they need a warrant for that.

You'll never get your car back the way you want without taking out your tranny, simply because you are not listening to what people are telling you. GET A LAWYER.

Like he said, those years do not have the vin on the tranny and the sticker can easily come off. If you get a lawyer and do file suit, who cares if you still have to pay for the car in the impound, have the lawsuit cover those fees. And then if the cops do arrest you later down the road cause of the people you hang out with, suit again because you're not guilty by association.

Alot of early DC's dont the serial tag. It comes off after years of dirt/oil/heat. You know that, we know that, you just have to explain to the court that not having one doesnt prove anything.
If you cant get a lawyer, then just pay to get your car out and set up a court date. Explain your side to the judge with evidence that these cars are common to having the sticker fall off. Hopefully he'll hear you out.....

The transmission serial number has NOTHING to do with the vehicle identification number. They will almost never match, even new right off the showroom floor, unless it is a total fluke.
