Holy **** thats so stupid! Getting your car impounded cuz you have an exhaust or cuz its lowered. Why dont they just impound every ferrari and porsche owner out there??

What pisses me off is that the most of the wrecked cars they showed in the video were stock cars A stock BMW, Civic, and a Ford Lighting??? Why they hell are they picking on people that have modified cars???

On the other hand I do think they should keep the racing were it belongs, on the track, but people just out driving around get there car towed because it looks fast?

It aired on wednesday. Pretty sad that the cops are towing modified cars. I'm never going to Richmond.

Does that mean I can legally street race if I drive a 996 Twin Turbo or a 360

If anyone lives in Toronto..then trust me, this is gonna happen in York Region as well. I've been to Richmond, the concentration of racers is much like Richmond Hill/Markham/Vaughn. Don't be surprised if this happens here..especially since most of the 'races' are in those areas.

Ha ha ha ... I can still go! Mine is stock! SOON I'll have the fasted car in Richmond
cause everybody else is going to be in the impound... BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

So like why don't they build a drag strip by the airport, and collect money for entrance fees instead of traffic fines??? People in Richmond say no to a racetrack in their back yard, so instead they get one on their front lawn..

Times haven't changed a bit from when WE were young and foolish..

We had cops and ******** too..

Those guys are stupid. All the accidents that happened doesn't do with any street racing. They just put all the blame to modified cars!! This really pisses me off.

Every 100 ppl , how many of them race ?

silly canadians....

what blows my mind is how people are treating this like a new thing....i mean damn, how many of our dads put heads and big carbs on there camaros or whatever back in the day, and how many of their dads were soupin up flatheads before that?

but i'm glad i live in a relatively rice free zone, which means cops are more worried about real crime like murder and ****.

I think it's more of a big deal now because it's WAY more mainstream. History repeats itself...

trust me. it must be shitty for the hardcore enthuasists who only race cars at the track. i cant imagine spending **** loads of cash on mods, and then have the city say you cannot use them cuz u will kill yourself.

This is why I posted the thread about street racing.

Driving my car in Van sucks! It's waay too easy to drive over the speed limit. I don't need the extra aggravation of being pulled over for vehicle inspections and possible towing.

Thanks street racers! Thanks for nothin'

HEello everybody. I AM THE GUY IN THE VIDEO.
I was contacted by the cbc to do an segment on the current events around my city. I ONLY agreed to do it if it showed the good side of all of us. Many of teh staements that i said were taken WAY out of context as she followed me around for 2 days. I am a show car ( which is why i lost to an s2000 runnning only 3psi ) but i dont consider myslef a ricer as i used to be about speed and i know how a car works. In my city we have had a recent rash of completly stock cars, some drunk, racing around and killing themselves. So i decided to help show people that we are all not like that. My main point of modified cars are getting the heat for stock cars crashing and dying racing on busy city streets was competly left out. I gave alternatives like industrial park racing ( which you all saw ) and track racing ( which was conviently left out. ) Another point left out was that street racing is illegal and if you see a modifed car breaking a law it should be stopped. but if it isn't it should be left alone to drive like the rest of the general population. the reason richmond is like this is casue the crime rate is well below vancouver's and it doesn't have any serious problems like vancouver so the cops get real bored around here. Unfortunalty the producers at CBC thought that the image i gave wasn't what teh general population wanted to see and at teh last minute hit the editing table. THrough this i was MAGICALLY transformed into a rice racing typical asian driver. To say the least i was very disapointed with teh outcome. there are quotes about me saying talking about the show scene that were incorperated with her street race talk. i did a mock race with her to show her what an alternative is like and questioned me about not having look outs on tape, ( but 5 mins before she asked if we could do it for her without lookouts ). Well needless to say i should have been more weary about the media. I treated her like a professional and in return i got burned.
thnaks CBC.
ps the reason i wanted to get my 3rd gear faster is becaseu im a non vtec car. and vtec cars kept beating mye in thrid. which you all know is the most pwerful gear in the vtec range. in my opinion anyways.
ps - thanks you to lil miss fut fut for bringing this to my attention
PSSSSHHHHHHH baby PSHHHHHHHHHHHH hahaha : )

At least the "subculture" was portrayed better than it was in F&F. Everything is basically true in that segment. It was wrong however, that the cop had the car towed only because it was lowered, but there could be other reasons that we didn't see.

It basicaly comes down to if you want to act like an idiot on public roads. There are legitimate people who race in sanctioned events or who dress up their cars to look nicer.

The others are the ones who deserve to be towed. If you act dumb, perpare to suffer the consequences. Yeah, it sucks to have your car towed and your license suspended, but that's your own fault.

All in all, good report.

zerofourLS-T, don't worry about it dude. Personally, I thought you handled it very nicely. Like I said in my post, you did portray the scene much better than F&F, which I'm sure screwed up the whole view the import modifying scene.

Of course the media is going to change your words around. They are there to stir the public. They want everyone to be "Wow!" or "That's crazy stuff." If it was all just mellow cruising around town, there'd be no story worth broadcasting.

Good job.
