DC5-R brakes on DC2-R?
lookin to get the Brembo brakes off a dc5-R, and install them on my 96 spec R. i was originally lookin to just do the 5lug conversion from a 98 specR (bolt on directly), but id like better braking power, and i know the dc5R brakes can be installed nicely onto newer civics etc, but how bout on my dc2R? Anyone ever done this before, or have any info on it?
thanks.
thanks.
the stock ITR brakes are plenty strong enough for even much track use. Good pads (carbotech makes excellents pads, i'd suggest the Panther+ for a daily/track car, otherwise the bobcat is good for street), good fluid, and call it a day.
Get some ducting in there if they still tend to overheat even with the dustshields on.

the dc2 platform used double wishbone suspension, while the dc5 platform utilizes macpherson struts, i would think its not compatible the reason the dc5 brakes bolt onto newer civics is becuase the newer civics also changed from double wishbones to mac struts. hope that sorta clarifies it up.

if you want "brembo" specific calipers. just go to the brembo usa webpage, and look under the gran turismo section, put in the what model car you have and you can see the part numbers of what you need (its sold as a kit, but im sure you can order separately) not as pretty as the dc5 but none the less its brembo
