Default 89 crx dx - 91 hb si seat swap (not goin well)

Ok so i was on the understanding that when swapping out seats that are not same year all you have to do is seat pans. Well ive gotten a beautiful pair of 91 hb si seats and trying to swap on my 88 crx dx pans and they are not similar at all. The non adjustment side mounting bolt isnt even similar. so am i gonna have to go king ghetto custom mod on this. Plz help me i know its been done somewhere/time. thanks (i apologize for my previous post titled OMG i was very upset after goin 500 miles to pick these seats up and return home to find out that its more than a seat pan swap as im sure you can understand.)

its not easy buddy! I swapped some JDM SiR seats into my 1991 hatch and it was a pain. The 88-89 models are alot different than the 90-91 models. Our 88-89 models have the same rails as the JDM seats so it will bolt right in. Now the 90-91 models are much different and you need to swap the pans. Not only did I have to swap pans I also had to swap recliners. Its not easy and it will definetely take time. Dont rush it try and take your time. Good Luck Any more questions go ahead and IM me

Ok well my plans after consideration on this ive come to the realasation that my pans will not work and that i will have to modify the hb pans. Well since im a crx owner I already possess great niger rig skills so this shouldnt be to bad. 1. the rails on the hb pans have pieces of metal holding them up about 1-2 inchs off of the floor of the pan, these will be removed as I dont feel like siting on my roof. 2 the rails will have to be spread out further as they are to narrow and i plan to drill a hole a little larger than I need to give me some room for adjustment. 3. Ive noticed the hb pans are not flat like my crx pans but rather rounded on the bottom, if they wont fit into the room provided I will have to remove a section of the metal on the underside to gain flatness.

So tell me what you guys think?

UPDATE for all u intrigied readers out there, i have custom fabricated a seat pan using my 88 rex rails and the hb pans, I had to grind off the pieces of metal that raise the rails off of the hb pan ( thats some tough *** metal but i had a badass bosch grinder ) and from there it involved some hammering and flatening and straighting, ended up having to drill two holes and using a rasp to make a rail bolt hole long enough but i could only succed in geting the rails 16 inches apart instead of the rex 16 1/2 so i had to widen the right front mount hole about a 1/8 - 1/4 inch. Ive only got the driver side in but its actually turned out to be a good project. wish i could document it but i have no digi camera

Well the drivers side is done just sites a teeny bit low on left side when sitting down but it was actually a pretty fun project after I quit freakin out, at first i was soooooooo mad though after expecting just seat pan swap.
