Heads Up Display into a CRX. What is the VSS Pulse Per Mile?
I have a new project, installing a HUD (Heads Up Display) that I got from the junkyard into my CRX.
My question is, how many pulses per mile is the VSS in the gauge cluster spec'd at? The HUD is looking for 4000 pulses to ground per mile, so I was wondering if a yellow box could give me enough correction. (the HUD is out of a Bonneville SSE in case anyone is curious, got it for under $10.)
The cluster is a stock HF cluster if that helps, and if I can get a hold of a camera I will do a writeup on it.

the honda manual says 4 pulses per revolution of the speedo cable. thats all it says though. hope that helps..

Sure will. We got it powered up looks pretty cool. its got a fuel light, check gauges, high beam, and turn signal indicator, and digital speedo mph or kph selectable.

i've thought about doing this with a spare LCD i have lying around...</TD></TR></TABLE>
Not sure i completley understand what you mean. The projector is a vacuum fluorescent display that is projected onto the windshield through mirrors. It does not bounce around on the windshield, and is height adjustable so i can adjust it up and down on the windshield. You have to be looking at it directly as well, so passengers and everyone else cannot see it.

In order to mount the projector housing i have to make a new bezel. Pictured below is a fiberglass mold of my old bezel. Its my first attempt at fiberglassing not to bad in my opinion. I don't want to hack up my stock one in case I want to go back to stock. Keep in mind I quickly took up the hobby of fiberglassing when I found this heads up display in the junkyard

If you don't know we can't explain it to you
Make a kit for it and make $$$$$
It would be nice if you could figure a way to strap it on rather than replacing the cowl

Congrats on the project... It was on my winter to do list
,but you beat me to it.
Graet minds think alike. Now for those who say its a distraction..have never driven a car with a heads up display. Its allows for safer driving its in your field of view..so no looking down at the spedo.
Now to figure the nav display...lol

This is a cool project I was thinkng of doing it in something else, but not a crx.
for you. BTW you got a deal on that setup, we had to put one in a 2000 corvette and that costed $2500 for the HUD setup only.
