supposedly the older spoon b series valve covers are painted yellow over the wrinkle red..so its wrinkle yellow.....the new ones are smooth and have machined things for all the grommets and ground thing.... <-- cant explain worth a damn

my spoon valve cover was just painted over the wrinkle red...but the paint on that was way better than on the trendy *** j's racing valve covers...

those things have millions of imperfections

I bought my LS spoon VC at walmart for about 4 bucks. It's labbled Dupli, but that's code for "official spoon yellow".
*shh*, don't tell any one else.

try painting it yourself. you will see

first, you have to match the paint, then you have to do a quality job. this means no overspray, no runs,
no fingerprints. this means all the letters being ground properly, no
missed spots, all the bracket mount points ground clean as well.

this is all after properly stripping and cleaning the valve cover. good
luck

I second that, along with 'it will cost roughly 1/6 of the price that JDM cockgobblers are paying'

You morons who actually buy a Spoon valvecover are sad. IT's not hard to do it yourself if you take your time and nobody but Mr Spoon would ever know it wasn't "the right shade of yellow"

Powdercoating is ghetto? And Spoon painting over the red on a type R valve cover isnt?

Powdercoating allows you to do some really nice colors in a hard, longlasting, shiny finish. My powdercoat done by TRG coating rules

and OMFG SPOON YELLOW POWDERCOAT! Like 60 bucks dude! OMFG, and it isnt just paint!

OMG SPOON OMG SPOON OMG SPOON
