FS: 2001 Integra Type R #0332 Phoenix Yellow in Illinois
2001 Integra Type R #0332 PY
There are some things you should know about this car before I get into condition and price. First of all, the car has been in at least two accidents, neither of which were major. One by the previous owner, of which the severity was not too great. When I purchased the car it had minor front end damage, and a cracked windshield. Damage included the following: cracked bumper, dented lip, dented hood, dented passenger fender, bent radiator support. The owner wouldn't really tell me what happened, but I had planned on doing a JDM front end conversion, so the damage was not a huge issue for me at the time. Obviously, I didn't go with the JDM front end. I swapped the hood out with a carbon fiber one, and put in a used radiator support. I also swapped the passenger fender and lip with used ones of the same colour. The windshield was replaced at a local body shop. I did not, however, replace the front bumper. It, in my opinion, is not cracked that badly and does not really affect the appearance of the vehicle tremendously. Also, when I installed the new radiator support, I didn't quite get it to fit exactly like it should, so there is a small gap between the bumper and the hood on the passenger side. That can easily be fixed, I am just too lazy to do it myself. The second accident was very very minor. My mom was backing out of the driveway and slightly scratched the rear fender on the passenger side. I took the car to the body shop, and they fixed it up, good as new. As far as the rest of the car's exterior, the side panels are all in great condition with two exceptions. There is a door ding in the front driver's side fender, and a small scratch in the paint on the drivers door. The roof has one small paint chip in it, and there is another small scratch on the under side of the wing. There is also a scratch on the hatch ( lol ), and a noticable scratch in the back bumper. Also, I have an A'pexi N1 cat-back exhaust which unfortunately melted a small part of the rear bumper, just in the exhaust cut out. It's not noticable with the muffler still in place. The car does burn oil, so some of the paint above the muffler on the rear bumper has been discoloured. That is difficult to notice, unless you are right next to it. Since the car has 76,000 miles on it, and has been daily driven for some time now, the wheels have some chips in them, but that's only normal. That's about it for the body.
The interior is in pretty good shape, I'm not going to go into a lot of detail here. Basically, there are some snags in seat portion of the passenger seat, maybe about 8 threads that have been pulled up out of the material. There are some scratches on the bottom part of the passenger side of the center console. I believe those were put in place while I was moving my computer. Also, there are some small scratches on the C pillar molding from a camera mount I installed. In the hatch, the molding was cut to install a strut tower bar. Also, in the center of the dash, the previous owner put an Integra Type R badge on. I was afraid to take it off due to sun damage, I didn't want a multi-coloured dash. Other than that, there are no major flaws in the interior.
The car runs pretty well. Like I previously stated, it does burn oil. Other than the oil burning though, there aren't any major mechanical issues. I haven't had the car looked at to determine the cause of the oil burning, but it seems like it happens more during deceleration. Due to this occurrence, it was suggested that my valve seals needed to be replaced. I purchased an OEM head gasket kit from Sunnyside Acura along with a timing belt. There should be valve seals in the kit, they just need to be put in. Also, there is some leakage from the valve cover gasket, but one of those is included in the head gasket kit. Like many other Rs the dipstick tube had popped out of the block, but was JB welded back in early in 2004. There is an occasional grind when shifting from 2-3, and shifter bushings will need to be replaced. The distributor cap and ignition rotor were recently replaced with OEM parts. The plug wires were upgraded to Magnacore 8mm wires. I installed an OEM fuel filter about 20K miles ago, along with a walbro 190lph fuel pump. I recently replaced the front rotors with autozone blanks, not even 500 miles on them yet. Mods on the car include:
- Carbon fiber hood
- 205/50/15 Falken Azenis sport
- JDM DC ceramic 4-1 header
- Apexi N1 catback exhaust
- Skunk2 cam gears
- ACT stage 2 clutch
- Clutchmasters light weight flywheel
- 4100K HID kit
- Skunk2 short shifter
- Greddy Trust chrome shift **** ( red top )
- Cobalt GT sport pads
- Apexi VAFC 2
- AEM CAI with K&N filter
- Cut valve cover
The car has been tracked a few times, ITR expos 4 and 5 and once at Gingerman for speed trial. I had the car dynoed at expo 5, and can include a dyno sheet with the car.
I think that about covers it. Whoever purchases the car will get the OEM headgasket kit NIB, a set of ARP head studs NIB, an OEM timing belt NIB, and rear autozone blank rotors NIB. The rear stut tower bar will not be included, nor will the rota slipstreams you see in the pictures. Overall, the car is in good condition. I'm going to ask $16,900 obo. for it as it sits right now, with the parts I have mentioned including. Thanks for looking, and feel free to email me with any questions at pmcruse@gmail.com.

Hey, I used a circular polarizer on my camera to take the reflections out. If you'd like I could take some more pictures, or show you other pictures I've already taken where I did not polarize, so you can see the difference. Let me know if you need to see some different pics.
