first: if you don't have a helms manual, get one!
second: here is the link http://www.mazmo.com/zameoj/swap.htm

read that and if you have questions, just ask
goodluck

it will exceed $1200 easily and for sure (unless you can find a front clip from a junkyard maybe). New clutch kit alone goes for $300-$400, plus you need a flywheel and that's another $200-$300. You're already at $500-$700 and that doesn't even include the tranny and other parts (such as the clutch pedal assmbly, brake pedal assmbly, shifter assmbly and cables, etc).

then in that case, the only thing you have to break-in is the clutch and the flywheel.

^^not good advice....a manual swap is simple....people just hype it all up....

you need to buy:
ANY h series tranny, the amount of money you spend is up to you, but the cheapest you will find will probably be an h23 tranny for like $400
clutch master and slave cylinders - $100 new
clutch hard line from master to damper, the damper, and soft line to slave - $50 most at a junkyard
pedal assembly - $50 at a junkyard
shifter - $50
cables - $75

total: $725 in parts

$0 in labor with testacles

$1500 if you dont have them

if you must have it:
gauge cluster out of a manual - $100 (+-, i dont know)

good luck

agreed
when you've already modded your car so much, it would be more expensive (both time and money) to sell your auto and trying to find and buy a 5spd and exchange parts. If you have mechanical skills and a friend to help you, the swap should be fine. Took me 2 weeks, had to wait for parts to come in. The hardest parts of the swap I would say is making three holes in the firewall for the MC and trying to get the tranny through from the bottom using only jackstands. After it's done, it is well worth it.

Running the pre-bend clutch hard was a biatch on my 4th gen but 100million% worth it to do an auto to manual swap. Arm yourself with a manual and beer( for afterwords) That sucks for you 5th gen guys having to cut holes for the mc but its just more time.
Im using the jdm clutch pedal assembly in my 4th gen and it has no provision for the starter cut switch( it has the switch for the cruise but i guess they dont care if someone runs their car through a garage?) So instead i installed a hidden startercut switch good theft deterrent( thieves i own guns and am not a nice guy so dont even try it)

only problem i see is that the shifter cables are more than $75 new from honda. There is no way i would buy used shifter cables cause you do not know how they were treated before you got them. My cables from my prelude lasted 30000miles before they stretched.
