Default questions about daytime running lights

ok so i have been searching and searching and couldnt find a straight answer.

i have a 92 prelude S with jdm 1 pieces that i decided to go drl with. i wired the h4's so they are high/low. i then wanted to make my h1's daytime running lights or to act as fogs. so i was searching google and found THIS and decided to purchase the insight drl module it was talking about. i got it and hooked it all up today according to the diagram on that page and the wiring instructions that came with the module.

my question comes in here. the module will make the h1's come on like theyre supposed to. then when i turn on my headlights, they turn off. i want mine to stay on while the lows are on but turn off when i turn the high's on. how can i do this? ive been at this since earlier today and am tired of searching and guessing.

i know that hondas work off a ground system where the power is always running to the headlights so how do i get around this?

all i want to know is how do i have drl with the lows on and off when the highs come on?

please help me out with this im tired of giving myself a headache. once again i searched already but couldnt find a straight answer so thats why i posted.

I'm not sure how to do this mod, but I've been hearing alot of talk about the DRL being fog lights. Well thats a bunch of junk. They point up more then the brights. If you want running lights then do it, but they really don't even shine on the road.

Well thats atleast my CDM DRL.

yeah once i get my yellow h1 bulbs in im going to point them down more under where the low/high will be so it doesnt shine in peoples faces. at this point its more for looks than functionality. i live in the "city" wheres theres street lights everywhere and you barely even need headlights, lol.

i'm not sure exactly what your talking about, and i have no idea what h1, and h4 mean, but here are some wiring diagrams, maybe it will help. i've never posted pictures on here but i'll give it a shot.

i have no idea if that will work, but here are the links if it doesnt.

h1 and h4 are the jdm bulbs

h4=low beam

Does the h4 on the jdm lights work well with high /low. I havent used it yet for high/low just low. I was planning on putting in a switch and relay so when I need really bright I can use them. For those night cruises through the woods.

ok i figured it out (well with the help of someone on another board). so if anyone wants any info or wants me to do a write-up, ill see what i can do. since i already have it done, i odnt know how many "along the way" pictures i can take but ill do my best if the interest is right.

background: this will be for a jdm headlight conversion where you make the h4 high/low beam and make the h1 a daytime running light where it comes on when the car is turned on, stays on when the low beams are on, and turns off when the high beams are activated.

here are pics of my final product. some are with just the drl, some are with drl and running lights, some with drl and lowbeams and i believe there is one with just high beams with drl deactivated. http://photobucket.com/albums/v235/savesth...thedayrock/DRL/

let me know what everyone thinks!

koo that you got it to work.
Btw when you have your car set up using the h4s for High/low beam. Are the high beaming/ low beaming from the h4s always on?

i need to get my h1s to work again as highbeams. But My car setup looks just like yours.
