Dude, This has to be the most fucked up **** ever, it is 4:36AM and i barely got back from Chico CA, which is roughly 4 hours away from where i live, I was doing a trade with this vehicle https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1386754

The deal was, i get to keep my wheels, suspension, headlights and tail lights, and my shift ****, Good enough? We've talked on the phone numerous times. About doing the trade, it was about to go down yesterday october 20th 2005. I left to Chico around 3PM, so i could be there roughly 7PM because thats when he'd be available after school or work (dont remember which) Well we had a fun time swapping all the parts needed, seemed like a really cool guy, we got along very well. I had 2 of my friends there and he had one helping us. Everything went by ultra smooth, everything we had taken off, he insisted we dont have to put it back on right away on his new car (Which is my old one) because he said it was getting late for us and hed want us to go back home. So after a few hours, we discussed pink slips, and how to sign over eachothers name for the car. Well He showed me his pink slips, and everything was cool, he showed me all the documentation that i needed to do to finish off signing it over to my name, cool deal. I showed him my pink, told him he just needs to fill out his portion and we'd be on our way. We shook hands like a million times, i even told him he was the coolest guy i traded cars with, we had fun hanging out while it lasted. He gave me directions to the nearest walmart so i could buy some tape and cover up the CF lip. And we were off. I get a call later on on the way back to fresno, and he was asking me why vtec wasnt working and why it bogs at higher rpms. Before i could tell him my battery was low my phone shut off, and i had no chance to charge it til i got back home. Well i figured he was running a different ECU. because the car he gave me had no ecu, so i had to use mine. That was why the car was bogging at higher rpms because the SAFC was tuned for another ECU.
Anyways as i get home i plug my phone in, and i get a call immediately from the Chico Police department asking if this white honda is mine and should it belong in Chico, i was like HUH yes it does, i had just traded for a black honda, she goes oh ok how did u get it again? I was like from this guy name steven lo. She then tells me to hold on and detective smith comes on the phone and tells me Why did i steal his car. I was like no sir i didnt, i had told him my side of the story and the detective was baffled because stevenlo told them i had took the car on a test drive and stole his car He then told me i'd be getting a call from steven shortly. Then steven calls me and was like wtf, why did u leave like that.. I was like wha what... Leave like what? Hes all.. How come u left with no bill of sale, no pink, no nothing?! I was like wait a minute, we clearly discussed everything and i gave u my pinkslip, and u gave me mine, and we even shook hands agreeing so many times and u insisted that i go home. He goes well u need to bring me my car back, Im like dude, i just traveled 700 miles today to get this car, and now u want me to go back? Then he hung up on me and the other officer calls me. I tell him my side of the story and he is truly baffled now on why something like this could go so sour. I myself do not understand, STEVENLO, why did u do this to me, I thought everything was going soooo smooth.

Guys.. What could i possibly do, the police department are currently talking back with steven lo trying to see if they can compromise. If not i'd get charged for stealing his car Honestly i dont need any of this BS!! IS there ANYWAY i could get my parts and car back? Im afraid he will try to claim those parts as his... MODS! Is there anyway u can make his ad permanent.. so that he CANT modify it... SO if the police department needs evidence of what me and him ORIGIONALLY had in the ad, so i can prove what was origionally mine.. Please!

 

i dont know how it works in ca but in new jersey we have these things called titles.. if i was to trade my car for someone elses then i should sign the back of my title and so would he.. then we would do the same for his title

once the signature is on the title you legally own the car.. so if stephen LO signed the "pink slip" you have then I dont understand what the problem is.. you now legally own the car reguardless of what the trade circumstances are

my advice to you is if you have his signature on the back of the pink slip you now have in your possession then continue to do what you planned on.. take it to the DMV (or whatever it is called in ca) and finish the deal.. then if stephen lo gives you any more **** tell him to expletive off.. there is nothing he could do legally.. next time create a bill of sale so there is no way this can happen again.. i dont know what you think honda-tech is going to do to help you.. if you are worried consult with a lawyer

why would you do that man?

he did sign the pink slip right?

if he did then he has legally transfered ownership to you and there is nothing he can do to you.. dont make a bad move and drive all the way back to him.. that makes no sesne at all

i think the problem here is you are worried about the police.. dont be.. they are only going off of what they have been told by stephen.. these police are 7 hours away it is not like they are going to drive to your house and arrest you

I CAN GARUNTEE YOU IF YOU DRIVE ANOTHER 7 HOURS TO RETURN THE CAR YOU JUST TRADED FOR YOU ARE GOING TO BE FUCKED OVER ONE WAY OR THE OTHER..

dont be a fool.. consult a lawyer before you do anything.. this is the only advice i can give you.. have some common sense and use your head!

p.s. this is why trading cars is a bad idea

bro do you even understand what you are saying?

who cares if he doesnt have your pink.. you have his right?

and it has his signature right?

then dont worry about what he says register the car you traded for because you now legally own it.. you guys never signed a contract so who is to even say that you even had to give him your car.. if he claims he doesnt have the pink then you should call the police and say he stole your car.. he will only have 2 choices.. he will either have to produce the pink you gave him proving he does own you the car.. or if he cant produce the pink then you will get your old car back too!!!

plus why should you have to drive another 7 hours for his expletive up?

who is to say he didnt already strip parts off your former car?

who is to say he and or his friends may not try to jump or rob you when you go to return the car?

If you have his title and he signed it there is nothing he can do it belongs to you now...

Dont Put up with that crap... and dont worry about the police.

But get a Lawyer just to be on the safe side...

Boy....im not really sure what the hell to say! This is the most fucked up story i have heard in quite some time to be honest. Sounds like Stephen has a couple loose nuts and bolts rolling around upstairs. Def consult a Lawyer. As previously stated by others...if you have his signature on that document you are safe.

There's no telling what this Steven guy has done to your car.

You need to consult a lawyer. Have the cops be present at the exchange of cars if you are going to go through with all that headache.

If he signed his title/pink slip over to you then the car is rightfully legally yours. You don't need a bill of sale to proove that.

It would be funny if you gave back his car because you were scared of the police...

...then he registered your old car and took ownership since you've already signed over the title

Just register your new car and be done with it. You could easily get him busted for filing a false report simply by faxing the police a copy of his signature on the title.

 

This is VNTEC posting on my friends screen name. Well me being paranoid i went to CLovis police to make a report, the cop was mad at Chico PD for even considering writing a stolen car report on his behalf. I got to speak to steven for myself and he quickly went off yelling at me on why did i take off the way i did, saying i flew to fresno in the quickness, AFTER WE SHOOK HANDS, SAID OUR GOOD BYES, EXCHANGED KEYS, TRADED PINKS, HELL HE EVEN ****** OFFERED ME TO COME PARTY WITH HIM ON HALLOWEEN. But yet he told the police that "He took my car for a test drive and never came back, and never gave me his pink slip at all"

The thing that trips me out the most, is the ****** pink slip he told me to fill out and take to DMV has someone elses name on it, and the pink slip is blank. But in his little bundle of papers he pulled out when we exchanged information, i saw a registration paper saying his name on it, i was like wait, that means u have a pink under your name right? Then he goes to say its in the mail, and if i fill out this vessel transfer slip it will void his, this may be true or may not be true, but why would he have another pink slip that is still empty with someone elses signature and name on it? I took pictures of his car, and the more i think of it, i would rather much have my car back, THis is basically what i traded for.












There is clearly DAMAGE all over the freakin car that he didnt mention ANY Of his ads, he carefull takes all of his pictures in mind that u cant see any of this damage, and doesnt bother to even tell me about it until i catch them for myself.


I mean come on, i traded this

For that ugly black car, I'll rather TAKE MY CAR BACK ANYWAYS, i just cant seriously deal with the BS here

you traded a clean white hatch for a dented damaged black piece of ****? on top of that the car you traded for has over 200,000 miles!

at this point if you can get your old car back and he didnt strip/steal/remove anything from your old car consider yourself lucky and chalk this up as a lesson learned.. sadly, i dont think that outcome will happen..

i think at this point it is quite clear you were set up to be scammed by stephen from the start, because why would he (stephen) create trouble on his end when he clearly got the WAY better half of the deal.. this whole situation is mind boggling.. i am now officially out of things to say

Just an update, Me and my boys are getting ready to head over back to Chico, mind you I havent had any sleep for over 24 hours now because of the police involvment, and i had to make my own police report. Im just gonna go down there, take some pictures of my car, make sure he didnt expletive it up and hopefully get all my parts that are rightfully MINE back, the only thing i will probably be missing in the end is 200 bucks worth of gas, pain and suffering, and NO PINK SLIP FOR MY CAR

He keeps saying "Why did you do that for, u left me a piece of ****, im gonna tell everyone... What i DONT UNDERSTAND IS.... Why would he say i took off and stole his car... When right after we left he calls me and goes... "Hey how come u think its bogging at higher rpms?" He obviously got in the car and punched it. Well the only bad thing i can think of about my car is on the way to Chico one of the collector bolts came off, and i was basically running open header by the time i reached chico, but i had notified him and even offered to fix it before we did the trade, but he said it was okay. AND on the other hand, the hatch he gave me didnt have an ECU, so i had to plug the ecu i was using from my h22 hatch to drive home the black hatch, however the SAFC that was on my h22 hatch was already tuned for that ecu, so whatever ecu he shoved in there prolly made it bog out at higher rpms, all in all this is complete BS I will update you guys soon

See he has an empty pink slip that matches the cars vin, and plate number, and it HASNT been filled out yet that he gave to me. It had the PREVIOUS owner on the pink slip.. I have no clue how the expletive the car got registered under his name without him using this pink slip

I mean.. How could u possibly steal someones car... After putting ur own suspension and wheels and headlights/tailights on the car? Not to mention we swapped keys and put it on our old keychains.
