anyone ever do this for a small battery install?

i want to do this with one of those odyssey 680 batteries. any more info would be great. looks like a great way to free up some space for an intake without having to deal with the BS of having to put a kill switch on and all the other hassles of relocating the battery to the back.
seen somthing similar to it in a couple turbo set ups, but its prolly just as hard as relocating the batter to the back
cause u have to fabricate some kind of tray and bracket
but it is still pretty cool

Oddly enough I was just talking to my friend about doing this a few days ago.. Does anyone have a dead hawker (or a battery the same size) they want to donate so I can make up a tray?
Dont pay too much for those batterys, just go to a lil Bike Shop and ask for a battery for a Harley-Davidson Soft tail. Just make sure it has 225+ Cold cranking amps....i think...
Very nice. Just be careful for clearance when the engine torques. Looks like the transmission is going to snap it right off the frame rail. Also that battery ground is very short. Have you ever seen a motor torque? Especially a motor with some power sitting on OEM rubber mounts.
where does the trans ground come from? the chassis. it doesnt really matter, but for the benefit of the rest of the grounds in the car, it would be better to go to the chassis and then to the trans.
and the batery in the pic isnt completely hooked up so theres no way to tell that he wasnt going to do that. but yea, (-)neg terminal to chassis, to trans.

I have a small battery from a garden tractor that has 200CCA in that same location. I have been using it all summer on my turbo ZC with no problems. Best part is I only paid $25 for it brand new.
I have a similar set up. Here's some pics.

Because of the turbo intake I had no room for the battery so instead of relocating the battery to the back of the car I decided on using a smaller battery.

We did this on our CRX. We fabbed up a box that mounted to some existing holes. It frees up some space and lowers the center of gravity too.
Some nice lookin small battery mounts n stuff on here
Im almost thinking about moving mine BACK to the front....what do yall think?

would there be a problem using such a small battery with a system? will the battery be able to handle it? also would u need to use one of those batteries with gel inside or could u use a regular one with liquid?
if you have a system dont do this. this is for people who need space for performance related things. if you have a system you arent serious about performance
anyway damn that box looks good, only thing is it looks like it would interfere with the radiator, and if it only bolts on the top id be worried about the box ripping off in turns. my car wont be a drag car so it has to be solid.
EpicTuning, wanna make another box?

lol idiot, who says im not serious about performance? no ****, my car isnt a drag racer, its a daily driver but i plan on turboing, so i could use the room. and why would a system rule out performance, unless ur car was gutted and a drag car? your ignorant. efs have little engine bay room anyways so makin space is a plus whether or not you are running charge pipes or an intake.
so anyways if i just have like a 12 and a 300 watt amp, what size battery is a must. will this type of project be feasable?
