We started last Saturday with the assembly of the motor, but quickly found out we needed to send the head out to get rebuilt. The head was begging for a valve job as they were leaking on the exhaust side. This pretty much put a stop to our day of building, so we decided to inspect everything else. Took off the oil pan, checked the mains and caps for proper torque. Ordered a new Moroso oil pan because the teflon coating was starting to chip away. To add to the already growing list of OEM Replacement parts, I bought a few more items from Acura that day.

Also fabricated new mounts for the seat rails, had a buddy of mine do that since I know nothing about welding. Now, instead of the seat being bolted to the floor, I have sliders to work with Also sent out the door panels to get the armrests re-wrapped.


While at the head shop, they installed new bronze valve guides, did a 3 angle valve job and I had them install Skunk2 Valve Springs.(already had Crower retainers) Pete at Total Precision also helped me identify the set of "mystery cams" I had by taking a couple of measurements and comparing them to his Comp Catalog. Turns out, they are Stage2 (57200) confirmed by Comp. *SCORE*


This is how the head looks now, it is downright sexy!



I also asked if he could bore out the GSR throttle body to match up to the Edelbrock Victor X manifold.... NOPE. No big deal, ordered an Edelbrock 65mm TB to match up perfect to the intake manifold.

Finished some other small projects in the past couple of weeks, dropped a few grand thus far, and I'm probably not done yet!
